Hard Rock band Eve To Adam are rolling into 2017 with some major announcements. Not only have they finished up their long anticipated Odyssey LP, but they’re giving fans a sneak peak of their single “Tongue Tied” and have announced dates for the Tongue Tied Tour. To quote Billy Squier, “Stroke me”, “Stroke Me” says the music business to every band out there busting their ass to make it. ETA is now done with that song and dance. Too many bands doin’ the same thing really led us to the point of trying something different. ETA’s sound is looking to the future, and ‘Odyssey” is our first big step in that direction. In wanting to get people’s attention to our evolution and survival, ‘Tongue Tied’ became the perfect choice for a first single. An anthem for shutting up your haters by succeeding where they thought you had failed. – Taki Sassaris

The Anchor Release “The Hardest Part” Music Video

ta_1

Female-fronted metalcore outfit The Anchor has premiered their new music video titled “The Hardest Part” off their recent full length release A World Ahead. Vocalist, Linzey Rae, most notably known for her Metal Kitchen parody videos where she takes lyrics from todays most popular metalcore artists and turns them into cooking instructions, talked about the meaning behind the song:

“I lost my mom to drug addiction. One of the most difficult lessons in life is realizing that you can’t always change or save someone. The hardest part is letting go and saying goodbye. This song is a testament to forgiving through pain, remembering the best in people, and letting go of resentment. We can only be free when we find forgiveness for those who have hurt us most.”

A World Ahead” is available to purchase on iTunes and all other online music retailers.

About The Anchor:

The Anchor is a five-piece, female-fronted, metalcore band from Denver, Colorado. The Anchor and Linzey Rae have made a name for themselves since the viral explosion of their YouTube series, Metal Kitchen. In December 2016, The Anchor released their first full length album, A World Ahead, which charted #7 on the metal iTunes charts.

We write music with the objective of providing an uplifting message, while promoting the value of self worth. Knowing firsthand the refuge that music can offer away from life’s struggles, we hope to be a voice of understanding and provide a place that someone can call their home.

Mr. Kristopher Releases Dark Electronic ‘Communion’ EP Via Jet Set Trash

TSG managed, Mutligenre Electronic Music producer Mr. Kristopher has teamed with Europe based Jet Set Trash to release his newest EP, Communion. Originally premiered on Your EDM, Communion fuses high energy Electro House with heavy Industrial sensibilities to create a deliciously dark raver experience.

The textbook definition of communion is “sharing or exchanging intimate thoughts or feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.” I figured that is exactly what I am doing with my music. I hope you enjoy my intimate thoughts on a mental or spiritual level!Mr. Kristopher

In creating this EP, Mr. Kristopher essentially doubled down on the energy and darkness of the genre, clearly evident in the underlying synths and gloomy vocal samples and artwork. Influences on the first track, “Dark Lord,” for instance, come from the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, and Rob Zombie… There are many elements of the EP that defy normal musical convention, and that’s part of why I’m loving it so much. – Matt Meadow – Your EDM

Mult-various electronic music composer, producer, and instrumentalist Kristopher J. Gray, aka Mr. Kristopher, raises the levels of frequency in a colossal way. With a punk-metal background informing his darkly unique tone and energy, eclectic experimentation with natural ambient sounds—traveling the ocean and mountains to record almost all of his music with distorted sounds from nature–and polished production quality, Mr. Kristopher is breaking barriers with his electronic licks, core riffs, and hip-hop kicks that delivers an all-out head banging bass experience. Period.

Since 2011, the diligent former college student has maintained a busy show/festival schedule as well as promoting his music and career, managing to keep on a strict schedule with his college courses by utilizing green rooms and downtime between sets in his travels. Mr. Kristopher has created and developed a presence among the risingcontenders of today’s top tier festival circuits. Throwing down on stages such as Dancefestopia (4 years in a row), The Gathering of The Juggalos, Backwoods Music Festival, Safe In Sound Festival, and SXSW. He’s also recently been chosen by none other than Complex Magazine to participate in a 14 episode series and developed a hip-hop presence through sharing the stage with Tech N9ne and touring with Potluck. In 2016, he also participated in remixing Emmy Award winning Denyse Tontz’s “United States of Anxiety” and Dave Aude’s “Sweet Dreams.” Going into 2017, he’s ready to break new ground with his first European label release, Communion EP, with Jet Set Trash (which includes such alumni as ZARDONIC), bringing his uniquely dark fusion of electronic styles to an eager new audience.

New comers take heed, Mr. Kristopher is far from rookie status, despite his recent blossom onto the electronic scene; he’s long since left the kiddy pool and has yet to look back. Mr. K has been swinging with the best of the best for some time. State by state, he has worked his way around the country through various clubs and theaters; spreading his message of love and down to the ground good times. If you’re in search of a light, look no further. Let this wild-style rhythm and passion fueled sound be your guide. From Mr. Kristopher’s heart to yours.

lovelesslust Release Their New Video Covering David Bowie’s Song Fashion

lovelesslust_1_hard

Los Angeles, CA Art-Rock/Industrial artists lovelesslust have released the video for their cover of David Bowie’s hit song Fashion.

One year ago today Rock music legend David Bowie passed away. To help celebrate his life and legacy, lovelesslust decided to cover Fashion as a tribute to an artist that inspired them and many others.

There are few voices that seem to scream the truth as loudly and provocatively as David Bowie. I’ve loved his music forever and his death felt personal. I wanted to honor the inimitable Dead Man Walking one year after his passing, my tribute to the Blackstar from this little spider from Mars, where yes, David, there is life.
Fashion was, for me, the song that opened the floodgates to the expansive and fantastic world of Bowie.
We all miss you, David Bowie.-Johnathan Cooper Composer/Performer

About lovelesslust

Official | Facebook | Twitter

LA-based lovelesslust (composer/performer Johnathan Cooper, guitarist/bassist Dana Wells, and drummer Anders LaSource) bridges the gap between rock band and art piece; their darkly aggressive industrial sound coalesces with an electrifying stage presence, sinister original art that flanks the stage, and a black and white visual motif that unites the musicians themselves with their art.

lovelesslust has performed at renowned venues such as Bar Sinister, House of Blues – Main Stage, and The Viper Room, and toured across the southwestern United States, which culminated in a performance to a packed house in Austin during SXSW.

In August 2016 they released their album THE CAR CRASH THAT ENDED HER LIFE CAME AS NO SURPRISE, which was produced by Cooper and mixed by Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Orgy), incorporates the band’s live energy, vocal harmonies, and lush strings into their synth-heavy sound. An early version of album’s first single, the anthemic crowd-favorite “AntiYouth”, was remixed by the legendary Chris Corner (IAMX, Sneaker Pimps).

WVM Releases Electronic Pop Single “Sown”

wvm_2

Electronic musician, visual artist, and multi-instrumentalist WVM has released his Electronic Pop single “Sown”. Echoing both classic synth-pop masters Depeche Mode and New Order as well as the more modernized sounds of Daft Punk and  The Chromatics, the Christoffer Berg (The KnifeFever Ray) mixed single was inspired by WVM’s love of 80s Pop, while still heavily infused with his unique aral stylings.

“Sown” gets a lot of its inspiration from 80s Bowie and Peter Gabriel with a lot of early Prince…. but mostly it’s just the music I want to hear, a lot of my heart and soul went into it which is why it really doesn’t sound like any other artist other than me.” – WVM

About WVM:

“The name WVM is a wavelength, everything in this reality is made of waves from the car you drive to the skin on your bones. What I love about these waves is that they can be molded into anything. The juxtaposition of the W and the M are intentional to remind me everything has it’s opposite. The letters can stand for anything you want but it’s just WVM.”

September Mourning Release Official Music Video for “20 Below” Off of Debut LP, ‘Volume II’

septembermourning_2016

The Dark Alternative, Hard Rock Transmedia Project September Mourning have released their Official Music Video for “20 Below” off of their debut full length album, Volume II, which is out now on Sumerian Records.  “20 Below” follows the continuing story of human-reaper hybrid ‘September’ through parallel story lines as she is pursued between two worlds.

“20 Below is about ending the cycle of abuse within our own lives, whether it’s self inflicted or from an outside source. We’ve all had those relationships where someone has gotten close to us, abuses us in some way… knocks us down so hard it diminishes our self esteem. “20 Below” is about the realization that the beat down feeling and feelings of worthlessness are untrue and being caused by some external negativity. It’s about being strong enough within your own self to rise above. There are no saviors or Messiah coming to save us. There’s only the strength in our hearts and our souls, which is greater than we can even conceive. It’s great enough to be the catalyst to save our own selves if we find a way to tap into that part of ourselves. – September

September Mourning is also gearing up to join Dope and Combichrist as direct support on their Blood Lust Death Tour with Davey Suicide opening.

Hear George Morris’ Sci-Fi, Indie Pop Track “Full of Stars”

promo

George Morris, the indie rock artist and former frontman of The Satin Peaches, has released the second single from his upcoming self-titled solo LP. The track “Full of Stars” follows-up the album’s lead single “100 Years“.

“‘Full of Stars’ basically all came from the Space Odyssey books by Arthur C. Clarke….plus a few random rhymes,” says Morris. “The chorus is one of my favorite melodies I’ve written, probably because I don’t remember writing it.

The full-length will be released on February 10th and is Morris’ third album since his departure from the Island Records band The Satin Peaches. After the group called it quits in 2010, Morris began writing new material, expanding his guitar and piano skills, and working on tunes that called back to Radiohead, Velvet Underground, and The Beatles. In 2012, he recorded his first solo record titled Organ Solos and shortly after formed a backing band called The Gypsy Chorus to release his second album We Will Go To Hell For This.

Pre-order the new self-titled album here.

About George Morris:

Raised by musical parents, George Morris was born to write and perform music. He began making an impact on the Detroit music scene in the mid 2000’s with the Satin Peaches. In summer 2007 the Satin Peaches were included in the lineup of Lollapalooza. The band gained international exposure when they hooked up with Oasis manager Marcus Russell and signed on with the major label Island Records. Citing “lack of collaborative inspiration” the band called it quits in 2010 and George immediately focused on writing new material, expanding his guitar chops, piano skills and strategizing the next move. In 2012 he recorded a solo record entitled Organ Solos. Following Oragn Solos, was his second solo release We Will Go To Hell For This. With a solid live lineup featuring Helena Kirby, Zach Pliska, Doug Diedrich, and Ronny Tibbs, known as the Gypsy Chorus, George Morris is now ready to continue his musical quest with renewed spirituality, passion and a zest for finding the perfect musical soundtrack for our human experience.

Steven J. Vertun Releases Official Music Video for Poignant Single “Ghost”

15966118_1412765635408813_7542913042120699443_n

Steven J. Vertun (www.stevenJvertun.com) has released his deeply personal, Official Music Video for “Ghost,” the lead single off of his upcoming, debut LP Ghost, Shadow and Sun. Directed by Matt Zane (John 5Wayne StaticZakk WyldeDMCOrgy) of Lord Zane Productions. Vertun has also announced that a minimum of 30% of all music sales revenues will be donated to the organizations St. Judes Hospital and Wounded Warriors.

Many years ago I lost my son, Alexander. He was 4 ½ years old. It was as indescribable time as you can imagine it would be. He was a wonderful, kind little human being on every imaginable level and I loved him more than I could ever fathom to articulate.

There were many years of shadow that followed in the wake of his passing. It took a very long time, years, for me to find any semblance of balance or internal peace. The storms raged internally and non-stop as I tried to find some kind of universal parity or clarity. And still, there were the other children, a wife, a business that needed to be attended to and navigated as the storm raged on.

Ghost, Shadow and Sun as an entire body of work has been the result of a more reflective view, years later. The songs were inspired and written covering an array of my deep personal experiences and my attempt to place these songs in the context of our collective human experience so that the listener can relate the songs to their own journey.

This brings us to the song/Video “Ghost”. While I was never able to find equitable answers to my universal questioning, there were some truths that I found along that hard traveled road. The most important being that when we lose someone that we love, whether a child, or a parent, a family member, friend or a even a pet, grief can be paramount and consuming. In the moment and for however long it lasts, it tends to be all-encompassing and comprehensive. For how long and the depth of it is dependent on many diverse variables, unique to every individual person and situation. Two other truths that I found; there are no magical words that will change the way someone feels when they are grieving or parables that can take the pain away. Words provide brief respite, well wishes provide some comfort, however answers as to the grand “why” are elusive and out of our worldly domain. The other truth that I came to realize was that true grieving is only resolved over time and distance from the loss, it is a process. It is about finding acceptance as opposed to answers… that is when and where the grief begins to ebb.

Ghost was written just as I was starting to find my own initial levels of acceptance, five years after Alexander’s passing. It was formally recorded a few years later. A few months ago I experienced a steady sequence of people that had recently lost loved ones, humans and pets both. They were flying on to my radar at rapid pace. For years, on the basis of my own experience, I had gone to essentially counseling people that… “I have no words that will change or stop your current feelings of loss and grief, however, I want you to know and hold close that over time these feelings will evolve and dissipate and there will be light”. I have found that this council has brought more comfort than any others condolences I had articulated in years prior to my own experience. During this recent short burst of losses, that emotional heaviness that I used to feel started flowing back in. I began meditating and praying it away. I began thinking that nobody escapes these occurrences and how can you message to people to wait it out with the understanding that there is an endpoint to grief. That lead to the idea of placing the message of “Ghost” in a format that could, hopefully, accomplish that outcome on a larger scale than just responding to folks that came across my own radar. The way out of the heaviness that was starting to make a re-visit in my heart was to do something positive to balance it out. And “Ghost” video was inspired.

That is the entire purpose of the video. To send a message of hope and light for anyone going through the internal storm of loss. – Steven J Vertun

Born and raised in the NY/NJ region of the US, a “behaviorally challenging” 5-year-old is presented with the choice of choosing any instrument he’d like to learn to play as the latest volley from an exhaustive list of attempts to “get him under control”. Said chaotic child picks the accordion because he likes the complexity of all the buttons, knobs and keys. Kid learns the keys; the “sedating” thing fails spectacularly. Music creation and playing does become his very best friend however and highly contributes towards keeping him out of prison and remaining vertical during his formative years.

Steve switched to guitar at the age of fifteen. Upon having a grand total of five chords under his belt, he started his first band, Attic (the band rehearsed in the loft of an old barn). Over the next several years, he and his mates worked on their chops and played out whenever and wherever they could find a few electrical outlets…the drinking age of 21 limiting opportunities but inspiring creative gigs and venues. Two weeks after graduating college, he loaded up his rusty old VW bug with a couple of beat up guitars, an old Fender Twin Reverb Amp, a sack (literally) of clothes, $731 of cash and blindly traveled to Orange County, California, having never been out of the tri-state area prior to this journey. Once there, he started the band Sparrow (culled from a wild sparrow he raised for 8 years) which trans-morphed into the alternative rock band Eye Savant for 18 years. Eye Savant established a large, OC based following over the years, playing frequently at the best venues in the area and occasionally venturing up to LA as well. They opened for many well-known artists such as Jeff BeckGreat WhiteStan RidgewayMolly Hatchett and several others while frequently headlining their own shows. Eye Savant disbanded in 2002 when two of the members moved to different parts of the country. Steve opted to continue on as a solo performer, bringing in a variety of excellent musicians as needed for recording puposes.

Steve has been crafting original rock material exclusively since he picked up his first guitar (actually since his first day on the accordion). His music is a blend of 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s influenced alternative rock, progressing over the years but carrying forward the roots of each generation of music and adding to the next. The wide range of explorations covers acoustic ballads to medium paced excursions to high energy, wall of sound big bangs. Some of the bands he notes as being highly influential are SpringsteenPink FloydThe DoorsRushU2LiveLifeHouseFoo FightersSwitchfootSnow PatrolImagine Dragons and others. Does he sound specifically like any of the above influences? His response, “I don’t believe so. What I do know is that the music of these outstanding artists and others (inclusive of classical, Blues, and World Music), drop into this wide-open filter of my mind, mingle with my personal experiences, travel through the internal grist mill and come out in whatever manner and form that they do. Everyone will hear it in their own measure and how they personally relate the music and lyrics to their own unique experiences”.

In November of 2016, Steve completed his first music video to coincide with his latest CD release Ghost, Shadow and Sun. The video is tethered to the song “Ghost” from the new cd. It is an artistic, emotionally moving message piece based on the concepts of grief and redemption. The video premiered on http://www.antiheromagazine.com on January 13th, 2017 and iavailable on I-tunes. The entire CD will be available on the same sites on February 3rd, 2017 and will be available for purchase on I-tunes, CDbaby.com and most major music e-sites.

A minimum of 30% of all music sales revenues will be donated to a variety of organizations including St. Judes Hospital and Wounded Warriors.

Former Marines Form Rock Band Sixlight; Release “Sick Again” Music Video

7

Rock quintet Sixlight has released their new music video and single “Sick Again“. The new single comes from the group’s forthcoming album set to release this spring. Blending catchy radio friendly hooks with standout vocals has these former active duty marines and newly formed band on the right track to the active rock world.

Sixlight originally formed in 2014 after three of the five founding members completed their enlistments in the Marines. While in the Marines, Curtis Martin (guitar), Nick Tekampe (vocals) and Ian Collins (guitar) met and immediately connected with musical tastes. This later grew into the idea of their next mission, Sixlight.

“The concept behind ‘Sick Again’ was to put into words the mental struggle of addiction to an abusive relationship or substance. The lyrics describe the feeling of relapsing into the same destructive habits you know are killing you, but enjoying the high and giving in to temptation just to ease the pain. Everyone struggles with right and wrong when finding themselves and we keep making the same crippling choices over and over. ‘Sick Again’ is the hard hitting dark anthem for anyone who has ever felt like a slave to addiction.” – Vocalist, Nick Tekampe

Sick Again” is available to purchase on iTunes and all other online music retailers.

About Sixlight:

Created by three friends and former Marines, who met while stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. Immediately connecting, their collective desire to make an impact on today’s modern Rock genre led them to start navigating the many different challenges to be found in the industry today.

As each member looked to make a name for himself individually, by working with a few start up bands, those collaborative rock & metal projects soon fell by the wayside. As fate would have it the three Marines, staying true to their mission, found themselves back together once again. As 2014 rolled around, their enlistments complete, they were released from active duty. They quickly began laying the foundation to bring their own unique sound to the current rock scene.

The three original members, Curtis Martin (guitar), Nick Tekampe (vocals) and Ian Collins (guitar) unwavering in their determination, efforts and creativity, began building a sound all their own. As 2016 ushered in, the much needed arrival of seasoned drummer Travis Sharp and Bassist/Back Up Vocalist Rob Endling rounded out the Sixlight lineup.

With all the pieces in place, it is now easy to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for these five musicians. Through their belief in each other, coupled with continued hard work and determination, they know that they will one day be an unstoppable force in rock music.

About .bipolar.

[From In Their Own Words: Smash Magazine Issue 77]

Eight years are behind us in the city of sin. Eight years of growth, evolution, accomplishments with the ever-changing desert as our backdrop.

While playing on almost every stage in this town (that will allow metal) we’ve watched the metal scene transcend a dusty cloud of impoverishment and become fruitful; pushing forth greater venues, more talented musicians and a plexus of community between the bands. While there is always the need for further growth the current state is far more productive than when we had first moved here from Sacramento in 2008.

.bipolar. was birthed in Northern California in 2003. We were recognized in 2004 as Best Metal band by the Sacramento News & Review played hundreds of shows and put out four albums over the span of six years.

Vocalist, Charlie and drummer Brian moved to Charlie’s former home of Las Vegas for personal growth during the recession still with the hopes of continuing .bipolar. Within a few months we played our first Las Vegas show at the now defunct Farm and begun the plunge into the Vegas metal scene.

Two EPs, hundreds of shows, a couple Vegas Rocks Award nominations and a few guitarists later we haven’t regretted the move one bit.

The band now consists of Chris Kmit as bassist, Kevin Lemus and Jaisen Hinds as guitarists joining Brian on drums and Charlie as vocalist.

We’ve worked hard to establish ourselves as a DIY metal band while producing great music we are passionate about and giving 110% at our shows. The music we are writing now and the shows we have planned don’t stray from our goals and promise to be as savage as ever.
