Justin Symbol & The God Bombs Release Official Music Video for “GODHEAD”

Electronic rock group Justin Symbol & The God Bombs has released the Official Music Video for the title single, “GΩDHEAD”, off of their upcoming second album due out Fall. An homage to 70s psychedelic/occult film makers such as Alejandro Jodorowsky and Kenneth Anger.

Filmed in Joshua Tree, CA in June 2016–during an extreme heat wave that killed at least one person–and staring Justin Symbol, Will EvilJabbath Kadabra, and John Doll (aka The God Bombs), plus Ryan Frankenstein (of the band Our Frankenstein) and Angel Nightmare (of the band Midnight Nighmare), “GΩDHEAD” tells the story of Justin Symbol’s quest for a mystical cactus shaped microphone atop a mountain in Joshua Tree. He is challenged along the way by various evil forces attempting to thwart his conquest.
Justin Symbol & The God Bombs has also announced a Co-Headlining Tour w/Keychain (Zombie Shark Records).
With the release of debut album V Ω I D H E A D on Halloween 2014, electro-shock-rocker and self-proclaimed “King of Negativity” Justin Symbol emerged as a bold new force in the national rock scene. V Ω I D H E A D features co-founding Marilyn Manson guitarist Daisy Berkowitz and was accompanied by a U.S. tour in May 2015 with William Control. This buzz helped Symbol gain the attention of major music press and build a national cult following. In the year and a half that followed, the band continued to tour the U.S. with acts such as Blood On the Dance Floor and The Bunny The Bear. Justin Symbol & The God Bombs are currently in the studio working on their second full length album, GΩDHEAD, due in early 2017.

Athena Hiotis and Nina Themelis Aim to Inspire with “Unbreakable: Our Story”

Athena Hiotis (RÊVE) has teamed up with Baltimore artist and childhood friend Nina Themelis to release their inspiring concept video. “Unbreakable:Our Story” features a diverse array of women’s empowering stories, from being proud to have gained weight to addiction victories to losing a spouse and fighting to change laws to protect others set to the Athena and Ian Kaine MacGregor written track, “Unbreakable.”

We had one rule for them. They had to be positive in the syntax. Words like ‘can’t’, ‘don’t’, ‘I’m not’ were not allowed. They had to write their statements in an affirming way. – Athena

The reason I was so excited to work on this project is because of how frequently our culture perpetuates the idea of women working in competition with one another. It was important to work on something with strangers, or mild acquaintances, where the unifying thread was how we empower ourselves and each other. –Nina

Visual artist and creative director, Tré made a bold appearance in the short and penned an equally bold statement, recalling her experience participating in the making of the video. “Support is always important; we can’t expect others to support us if we don’t make an effort to support each other. Today, women support women because now we can, and now we must.” – Tré (Visual Artist and Creative Director)

Army Of The Universe was founded in 2008 by Electronic Dance producer Trebla (aka Albert Vorne) and lead singer Lord K. In 2010, guitar player Dave Tavecchia joined the band and one year later Chris Vrenna (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Tweaker) co-produced their first album Mother Ignorance (Metropolis Records). Army Of The Universe’ sound is made of analog synths and blade guitars, speeding around the echoes of 80’s vibes and 90’s industrial, throughout the underground of Brit’s school electronica, new wave and techno beats.

The band and their debut album Mother Ignorance have been considered one of the newest and most exciting surprises throughout both the industrial and rave scenes.
Between 2011 and 2014 the band toured North America and Europe for over 80 shows, including several DJ set gigs, a mix of dark underground sounds with live vocal performances.
In the meanwhile The Army released one more EP on Metropolis Records, Until The End followed by a second album, The Hipster Sacrifice, and a new single, “Uniforms”, in 2014. Their experimentation also landed the band on Dim Mak Records for Kill The F* DJ EP and the single “PNKRZ!”

Crystal Ignite Releases Debut Solo Single “Everything You Break” Featuring Ben Moody

Australian rock artist Crystal Ignite has released her debut single, “Everything You Break,” featuring Ben Moody (Evanescence) off of her upcoming, as yet unnamed EP. “Everything You Break” was written by Crystal Ignite, Andrew Bojanic, and Liz Hooper and produced by Crystal Ignite and  WizardzOfOz.

This is one of the most emotional tracks I have written, it’s a tragic love song, a break up song, all about realizing that the person you loved was not who you thought they were…. Having Ben Moody feature on guitar makes this track even more special…. the breaking Evanesence album he cowrote was extremely influential on me in he was early stages of my career, and is a true honor – Crystal Ignite

To say that Crystal Ignite is excited about returning to Australia to tour would be a total understatement. Crystal is bloody ecstatic! Backed by a stellar new group, the five piece outfit are embarking on an eleven date national run of shows in support of Crystal’s powerful new single “Everything You Break.”

Best known to audiences as the dynamic and empowering frontwoman of globetrotting hard rock act Bellusira (who have sadly called it a day), Crystal Ignite has kickstarted this brand new chapter of her career by pouring her creative heart and soul into an EP’s worth of sessions in Melbourne just last month.

“Everything You Break” (ft Evanescence’s Ben Moody on guitar) is an eclectic mix of tribal drum driven alt-pop that still draws upon Crystal’s love of all things rock, while telling a tragic tale of love gone wrong with the initial deception and eventual personal redemption that encompasses it.

Crystal will also be announcing a touring line-up for her return to the US later in the year.

As a singer-songwriter with Bellusira who released two albums and toured throughout the US, Australia and New Zealand with names such as HalestormSeetherHell YeahThe Misfits, and Fly Leaf, the band also landed on major festivals with KornRob ZombieFive Finger Death Punch, and many more. Crystal’s relocation to Los Angeles also saw her work closely with co-writer Will Hunt (Evanescence) and band member Koichi Fukuda(Static-X).

Having also just secured a world-wide licensing deal with Superpop.co(Sony/ATV and Extreme Music, Crystal Ignite is set to unleash her powerhouse vocals and songs once again, showing why she’s one of the most talented women in rock today.

Fire From The Gods Release Official Music Video for “The Voiceless” off of Upcoming ‘Narrative Retold’

Hardcore Metal band Fire From The Gods has released their Ramon Boutviseth directed Official Music Video for “The Voiceless”. Produced by Jonathan Davis (KORN), “The Voiceless” is off of their upcoming full length album, Narrative Retold, due out May 19th via Rise Records.

“The Voiceless is referring to the callousness of society. This generation is exposed to so many shocking and graphic events. No one seems to bat an eye. There is no compassion or care for one’s fellow man. Violence towards each other is a normal occurrence factored into our lives these days. Speaking up about it is nothing new, but it needs to be said. Yes, the world will keep spinning, and life does go on, but we need to slow down and smell the fucking roses once in a while.” – AJ Channer

Heavy music deserves a heavier message.

That’s what Fire From The Gods deliver on their second full-length album and first for Rise Records, Narrative. Speaking from a platform cast in heavy metal power, hip-hop consciousness, and even a little reggae spirit, the Austin, TX quintet—AJ Channer [vocals], Jameson Teat [guitar], Drew Walker [guitar], Bonner Baker [bass], and Richard Wicander [drums]—urge for change through conveying a story that’s both personal and universal.
That story stems directly from AJ’s life. Born in the Bronx to a single mother of Jamaican descent, he spent his childhood moving between London, New York City, Los Angeles, Norfolk, and even Ghana where he attended middle school. Drawing from this diverse experience, he speaks with unmitigated honesty about the state of the world.

“This album is the personal narrative of a minority man living in major cities and being American,” he explains. “There’s a socio-economic theme throughout the whole record that carries from each song to song. It’s all about the underdog. We’ve all had to fight for everything we have in this band. The political climate in our country is quite racially and socially charged. There are a lot of issues and energy people are expressing along with misguided hate and anger. I want to channel this in music that can resonate. This is where we come from and who we are as a band.”

In order to properly capture this vision, the boys retreated to House of Loud Studios in New Jersey to record with David Bendeth (ParamoreOf Mice & MenBreaking Benjamin). They spent a month in the winter of 2016 tracking what would become Narrative.

“There’s no crying in Bendeth’s dojo,” laughs AJ. “He really pushed us, and we grew in a short period of time. The band takes on a life of its own with this record.”

That growth stands pervasive in songs like “Excuse Me.” The vocalist spits a frenetic and frantic verse over a buzzsaw guitar and seesawing groove before eventually breaking into an airy dancehall break complete with a reggae-style plea, “Excuse me, Mr. Officer…”

“The essence of ‘Redemption Song’ influenced the hook,” he goes on. “I’m speaking my mind about the fact that people judge you based on looks. Police will violate constitutional rights because of it, and the law of the land makes individuals submit.”

Meanwhile, “Public Enemy” lands a one-two punch of aggressive screaming and a soaring unshakable refrain. “It’s a call-to-arms to be heard,” sighs AJ. “I’m targeting the epitome of tyranny on the lyrics.”

On the other end of the spectrum, “End Transmission” sputters out into a celestial hum, balancing an airy hum with pummeling crash. “You cut off the tether to reality and imagine yourself flying amongst the satellites and stars,” he reveals. “We equate the heavens with tranquility and peacefulness although space is very stark and it’s cold. It’s not being a hero to save the world, but finding that hero within yourself.”

Fire From The Gods have quietly built a rabid fan base through tireless touring across the United States. They’ve shared national bills with the likes of August Burns Red and festival stages alongside Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Judas Priest, Killswitch Engage, and more at KNOTFEST two years in a row and with Motionless In White and Underoath at South By So What. Now, their Narrative is on display in 2016.

“I want people to feel empowered when they listen to this record,” AJ leaves off. “Come out of the experience knowing somebody thinks like you. You’re not alone.”

BLACKTOP MOJO RELEASES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “WHERE THE WIND BLOWS” OFF OF NEW LP ‘BURN THE SHIPS’

Seamlessly blending melody with adrenaline fueled, heavy rock and roll, Blacktop Mojo draws in everyone from old metal heads to people whose radio dials have never left top 40 stations. With soaring, gritty vocals and impeccably blended heavy guitar grooves set around a raucous southern stomp, Blacktop Mojo’s live shows are sure to leave fans’ screaming at the top of their lungs with metal horns in the air.

It was a blast making this video. We got to do it with a bunch of our friends from our home town of Palestine, TX in the bar where we played our first show. It basically turned into a two day party and the fun we had really comes through in the video. – Blacktop Mojo

Formed in the final weeks of 2012, Blacktop Mojo began cutting their teeth in the numerous country venues that Texas has to offer, but the guys never quite felt like they belonged. With each song they wrote, the vocals got less twangy and the sound from the amps became more gravelly and distorted until the guys had found their own unique blend of heavy southern rock. Through touring, the band has played with many national acts such as Bon JoviSammy HagarAaron LewisDaryl “DMC’ McDanielsCandleboxDrowning PoolPuddle Of MuddSmile Empty SoulAudiotopsy, and Whiskey Myers.

After running the highways for two years in support of their debut album, I Am(2014), in July of this year the band loaded their gear in the van and made a trip to Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, as well as FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL to make their sophomore effort entitled, Burn The Ships. In addition to the producer of the band’s first record, Philip Mosley, the band brought in co-producer, Jimmy Johnson of the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound studios as well as his long time engineer, Steve Melton (Lynyrd SkynyrdThe Rolling StonesBob Seger) to bring a seasoned sonic quality to their brand of raw, grungy rock. Burn The Ships was released March 10th of 2017 garnering critical acclaim in both US and European press outlets including Team Rock’s Classic Rock Magazine, who is quoted as saying “Blacktop Mojo might just be America’s next big rock band.”
