Formed in 2010, Gemini Syndrome spent their formative days opening for bands on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. As their reputation within the L.A. hard rock scene grew, so did their audience. Their 2013 full-length debut, Lux, landed at #3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and yielded the singles “Pleasure & Pain” and “Stardust.” The record’s release saw the Los Angeles heavy alternative band tour alongside everybody from Five Finger Death Punch to Device and perform at festivals such as Rock on the Range, Welcome to Rockville and more. After coming off the road in late 2014, Gemini Syndrome’s creative core vocalist Aaron Nordstrom, drummer Brian Steele Medina and bass player Alessandro “AP” Paveri released their 2016 second full-length, Memento Mori, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and spawned the hit single “Remember We Die,” which hit #1 on SiriusXM Octane. The band spent the majority of 2016 and 2017 on the road with bands such as In This Moment, Motionless In White, Avatar, Sevendust, Starset and Drowning Pool and are now headlining their “Synner Conversion Tour” in Summer 2018.

Legendary Techno-Trance Innovators JUNO REACTOR Release Long Awaited ‘JUNO REACTOR – THE MUTANT THEATRE’

mutantLand banner1d

Legendary electronic act JUNO REACTOR has released their ninth studio album, Juno Reactor – The Mutant Theatre via Metropolis Records today. Originally inspired by the 2016 Ozora Festival spectacle of the same name, THE MUTANT THEATRE has, over the past two years of its visual and auditory development, become a standard for live show theatrics and electronic music production.

Juno Reactor has also revealed a stunning 2 minute video clip of “Dakota,” written in collaboration with UnderCover, from The Mutant Theatre live show.

Dakota

“Shot at a Live Show in London, England on February 23, 2018, ‘Dakota’ was inspired by the brave Water Protecters and Citizens holding the line at the Dakota Pipe Line Protests. ‘Dakota’ was also written with red hot Psy Trance group UnderCover, and the result is an intensified experience that rounds out the inspiration and visual performance adventure” – Ben Watkins

player

“I always wanted to have a big show, a Barbarella meets Pan’s Labyrinth tableau with a sci-fi edge, set to trance and psytrance music; a huge, Las Vegas-style spectacle for the eyes, ears, and imagination. We’ve staged The Mutant Theatre throughout Europe since that inception, and it has developed with each show. We’re so thrilled that we’ll finally be bringing the show to the home of its inspiration with a performance at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, at the internationally renown DEFCON no less, on August 11th.

‘Let’s Turn On,’ inspired by the 3000 LED, wifi controlled costume designed by Stigma’s (one of the dance troupes that comprise The Mutant Theatre) Sasha, is a trancification of my love for ’70s disco, a fusion of my musical style and tastes. I brought in Shpongle vocalist Michelle Adamson — I love her very British voice and the way she is a virtuoso with the TC Helican Voiceworks—to round out the song and play to that larger than life spectacle that I had imagined.” – Ben Watkins

Advance Praise for JUNO REACTOR – THE MUTANT THEATRE:

“The Mutant Theater is undoubtedly stunning. As each track has the constitution of a mighty heavy metal and with the conductive properties of one too. There are endless opportunities to go from passive listener to active dancer infused by the power of all that is lovely and dark. The Mutant Theater is an exciting journey resplendent in artificial but massively undiscovered colours; Inspired, the scope of this album is visionary and beyond pop art. 10/10”
– Soundscape Magazine

“Ben Watkins has long been one of the cornerstones of Goa trance, and has also dabbled in other styles, including contemporary pop, anime, and film soundtracks (Juno Reactor has composed music for ‘The Matrix’ series of movies and video games), symphonic music, and tribal folk. ‘Let’s Turn On’ will burn up the dancefloor, but with its interlocking riffs, sophisticated beats, and digital vocals, show it’s also a fabulous work of modern electro-pop.” – Essentially Pop

“From the back streets of London to Hollywood blockbusters of the Matrix, Juno Reactor’s story is ever evolving. Ben Watkins aka Juno Reactor is constantly exploring new areas visually and musically, evidenced by the new album The Mutant Theatre (also the name of the new live extravaganza). The Mutant Theatre is a resounding achievement from one of trance’s most innovative, pioneering artists.” – AlterNation

“Juno Reactor continue to innovate and their latest project is the stage show The Mutant Theatre, which will see an album release on 22 June via Metropolis Records entitled Juno Reactor – The Mutant Theatre. “Let’s Turn On” Is a thrilling number from the new album, and it features vocoder vocals underpinned by charging and bubbling, powerful synths. The new presses forward with forceful energy while it simultaneously mesmerizes. Juno Reactor haven’t lost a touch through the years, as “Let’s Turn It On” is an addicting number sure to pump you up.” – Sarah Zupko – PopMatters

SCATTERED HAMLET Release Official Music Video for “STAY HUNGRY”

stay hungry

Hard Southern Rock Band SCATTERED HAMLET has released the official music video for their cover of the TWISTED SISTER classic single, “Stay Hungry.” Originally premiered on Tattoo.com, “Stay Hungry” is a heartfelt tribute to the band’s drummer, Jake Delling Le Bast, who is currently in a coma.

Player

“There we were, one second we were waiting to see if we landed a tour support slot with an artist we really looked up to, and then next, I got the call. The heartbeat of the honky tonk metal machine, Jake Delling Le Bas, was celebrating his 30th birthday and fell off a third story balcony….. They didn’t know if he was going to make it. Later though, he did defy all odds and made it, but was in a coma with a traumatic brain injury. The kind of brain injury soldiers get from IEDs. I couldn’t make this crap up if I tried, it was like an episode of Behind The Music, but this time, instead of me watching it we were living it. I’m writing this nearly eight months later and I haven’t heard his voice since September. After talking with his family and the guys, we realized Jake didn’t work most of his adult life this hard to get the band to where we were only for us to decide we couldn’t move on. Honestly, that would piss him off most. Since the album cycle was cut short for Swamp Rebel Machine, we wanted to make something special so we put a call out to our fans on social media to pick a song for us to cover as a tribute for our fallen brother.

Dee Snider

We had some great ideas pitched to us and some not so great ideas [laughs]. Anyway, we demoed a few and they ran a complicated series of emotions: reflective, sad, sentimental… you name it, we tried to link that emotion to a song we could do justice. In SH though, we always had one gear and that’s balls out straight ahead. At the end of the day, we were still hungry and still wanted that same thing we were after the first time Jake, me and the early SH machine drove half way across the country to SXSW in Austin to announce to the music community that we were here. So that’s when my older brother stepped in, the fella who gave me my first Kiss album and got me started on this journey, he said, “Do Twisted Sister.” My brother grew up on Long Island and he and his friends used to see them in their early days. I’d always been a fan, but I watched their documentary and thought, wow, these guys knew how to overcome. Here we are feeling sorry for ourselves and should be out kicking ass agin. With the help of Jake’s best friend, and decorated producer, Jason Donaghy, and Jake’s younger brother, Alex, doing the video, this tune gave us a chance to get back on the horse and maybe when we play Warped Tour it can introduce some of the younger folks at the shows to the badassness that is Twisted Sister, or of course, Dee and the band can go NY style on my ass if they think we messed up their song.” –

Imagine Stone Cold Steve Austin with his partners Bo and Luke Duke in a parking lot brawl on Saturday night set to music?

“It’s Honky Tonk Metal, like you took a handful of cheap tucker speed and headed out on the highway. “ That’s how the guys in Scattered Hamlet describe their sound. To many others, they describe it as a mix between motorhead, molly hatchet, and clutch. Take a listen and you be the judge.
Scattered Hamlet was created to capture the essence of growing up in the country while still giving nods to the original outlaw countrymen of years past. Scattered Hamlet is one part Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet with a little flavoring of Motorhead and Down. All wrapped up in a fine shotgun shell casing. Their influences range everywhere from Southern classic rock, to groove, to doom and punk. With humble origins all over the United states and a relentless touring schedule of 100+ shows a year visiting 40 + states, the band makes no apologies for the equal love of Harley Davidsons, Honky Tonks, Les Pauls, Marshalls, shotguns and the classic American symbolism they all amass.

Their debut full length album, Skeleton Dixie, was produced by 2-time Grammy nominated Jason Donaghy who’s credits include Rob Zombie, John 5 and the Murder Dolls and mastered by legend Howie Weinberg who’s credits include: Pantera, Slayer, White Zombie, and Danzig. Their second full length, and most recent, Swamp Rebel Machine, would go on to give the band their most success with nearly 5,000 copies sold since its release in 2016, landing them a place on the Billboard Heatseekers charts for first week sales in November 2016. All of that mixed with a rigorous touring schedule during the 2017 season has made Scattered Hamlet a top competitor in the underground rock scene.

Scattered Hamlet has gone on to perform at some of America’s greatest music festivals such as Rocklahoma, Rock Fest, Steel Horse Bike Rally, and Warped Tour. Plus, their latest release garnered heavy rotation on dozens of radio station across America and found placements on CMT, MTV and several other media outlets.

These hillbilly boys know how to grab the bull by the horns, hold on for dear life, and ride that cow in to the ground. All humble, yet determined, Scattered Hamlet is aiming down the barrels and ready to pull the trigger on the monstrous career ahead of them.

“There are plenty of leeches in this world that have no other intentions but to suck the life out of you for their own selfish reasons, especially when they choose to not understand the importance of the ones closest to them striving to achieve something creative and worthwhile, which we all know takes years of mental, physical and financial sacrifice.
‘In The Garden’ is a massive ‘f##k you’ statement to every single self-absorbed individual out there unwilling to let the people closest to them grow and flourish. You, the narcissists are the ones who will wind up alone, because you choose to not have the capacity to unconditionally love others, and instead continue to believe that the whole world revolves around you. You should’ve known better!” – Adam Leader, Vocalist

JULIEN-K Release Single, “Photo Voltaire,” Off of ‘California Noir’

Long Beach, CA based Indietronic band JULIEN-K has announced that they will be joining STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, BUSH, and THE CULT on THE REVOLUTION 3 TOUR, launching July 7th in Las Vegas and winding throughout the US before wrapping up August 15th at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles. The band is set to release the official music video for their single, “Photo Voltaire,” off of their 2015 released California Noir, and are currently running an Indiegogo campaign to fund their upcoming LP, Harmonic Disruptor.

“‘Photo Voltaire‘ is very much a song about the struggle in our lives as artists – and for once, about a victory. I thought of the concept for the song lyrics and meaning one day at 5AM, prepping my board at the beach to surf in CA_X, and the unfinished version of the song we had been playing with for months but could not ‘solve’ was solved immediately by the sun exploding over the ocean line @ nearly 6am …. The concept ‘Photo Voltaire’ – the explosion of the sun in my own words – and the chorus popped into my head. This has been an analog for the band ever since. All the touring, crowdfunding, fan support, and so much more that has happened for us since we gave in to total honesty and authenticity. Our fans connect with this and us. All the opportunities – it’s like the sun exploding out of nowhere in our lives.” – Julien-K

Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck have been musical partners for 15+ years. During their time together they have weaved in and out of mainstream music like a constantly evolving musical fashion house. In the late 90’s they were responsible for massive radio and sales hits such as “Blind” (Korn), “Blue Monday,” ” Stitches,” and “Fiction” (Orgy), and recently “Crawl Back In” and “Let Down” (Dead By Sunrise, with their pal Chester Bennington). After enjoying years of traditional music business success, they have spent the last 10 years methodically moving away from the mainstream approach that put them on the map, opting to carefully steer their fans in a new direction, towards their new independent alternative electro rock project Julien-K – which sounds more at home with the likes of modern acts such as M83, The Kills, LCD Soundsystem, The Naked And Famous, Empire Of The Sun, and even The Black Keys (see Derakh’s sleazy electro-blues guitar playing on “We’re Here With You”).

2009 saw the long-awaited release of their debut album Death to Analog, which included long-time collaborators Anthony “Fu” Valcic and Brandon Belsky, with Belsky and drummer Elias Andra rounding out the live show. After Belsky and Andra’s 2010 departure, Julien-K’s studio line-up solidified as the trio of Derakh, Shuck and Valcic, while collaborations with electronic music innovators such as Bryan Black (Motor, Black Asteroid), Sharooz, Z-Listers, Vandal, and others revved up the writing phase of 2012’s sophomore We’re Here With You. The touring cycle that followed saw the band hit the south-west US and Europe – with festivals as far and wide as Hildesheim (Germany), Utrecht (Netherlands), and Vladivostok (Russia) – and many sold-out shows in their native LA.

Jk2017b

In July 2014, Julien-K launched their third album cycle with a 3-song prelude to an ambitious double concept album / esthetic movement that they called California Noir^^. The CA Noir spirit was given a visual representation in November 2014 with the release of the haunting video for the title track, showcasing the struggle to discover the meaning of the Californian dream.

The concept continued in 2015 and 2016 with two wildly successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaigns and subsequent (self-)releases of the two chapters California Noir: Analog Beaches and Digital Cities and California Noir: Nightlife in Neon, which established the band as musical innovators, digital pioneers, and fully independent music entrepreneurs shaking up the underground scene.

In 2017, the band released Time Capsule: A Future Retrospective, a 4 disk, 64 song mega-package aimed at the band’s core fanbase, which consisted of unreleased songs, b-sides, never heard before remixes, and live versions of some of their biggest hits.

Julien-K has become a crowdfunding giant, with all 4 of their campaigns hitting and holding the #1 Indiegogo chart position for the duration of the campaigns.

After a successful summer 2017 tour alongside PIG and Ghostfeeder, 2018 will see the band hit the stages around the world again on headline tours, as well as in support of their friends Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, and The Cult. Being the workaholics that they are, Ryan, Amir and Fu are also already working on a new album, Harmonic Disruptor (this time with the addition of new collaborators Bidi Cobra and Alex Gonzales), that will see the band go back to their roots, while including some new aural surprises at the same time. Catch them on the road this year to find out more!
