Phoenix, AZ based, Dark Alternative Rock Band THE SPIDER HOLE has announced the launch of a Kickstarter Campaign to help support their upcoming LP and associated graphic novel, To The Monsters. The unique project is built around the LP with 11 original songs, each about a different monster, as well as a 100 page horror anthology graphic novel written and illustrated by vocalist Ethan Scott; each story in the novel is about a different band member over the course of one fateful Halloween night.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, the quartet has revealed their first single, “The Skeleton Wedding,” from the album

“We were at The Quarry in Bisbee grubbing and waiting to go on stage when Ethan asks everyone in the band what their greatest fear is. He wants to do a horror anthology comic to put out with the new album. Before we were even called to the stage, all four stories were basically written.” – The Spider Hole

ToTheMonsters Comic

Two versions of the graphic novel will be offered through the Kickstarter, the standard softcover edition, and a DELUXE hardcover edition, which includes 4 additional stories. The hardcover edition is only available to Kickstarter backers.

A quartet with frequent guest musicians, The Spider Hole performs songs meant to stir brains and rattle bones. Based in sun-scorched Phoenix, AZ, the band started banging sounds together in the late nineties, and has steadily developed an aural stew that is partly rock, partly cabaret, partly blues, and partly goth. Influences include Tom Waits, Oingo Boingo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Primus, The Pixies, Frank Zappa, The Doors, and your face when you taste something unexpected. New music is being prepped for a new full-length album called To the Monsters, due near the end of 2018.

Experimental Carnatic Musician KAPIL SESHASAYEE Releases Debut Album “A Sacred Bore” & Announces UK + Canadian Tour

Kapil Col 1

Glaswegian art rock prodigy Kapil Seshasayee has released the debut LP “A Sacred Bore” through Liverpool based label Loner Noise. The concept album, upbraiding the caste system in India, is out digitally and on CD format on 14th September 2018. The deluxe 12″ vinyl version will see its worldwide release on 14th December, 2018.

Kapil Cuastic Wit

“Through noisy clips and dipping in and out of traditional rock and drum machine-aided rawness, A Sacred Bore is tied together by Seshasayee’s wistful, anguished voice.”, notes Rolling Stone India with an advance streaming of “A Sacred Bore” in its full.

“A Sacred Bore is my debut LP and an exploration of caste-based oppression in its many guises, both native and in diaspora. Through a distillation of Carnatic musical heritage, serrated guitar architecture and textural electronic flourishes inspired by the likes of FKA Twigs, I tackle topics such as the alliance of Hindu Nationalism with the alt-right, honour killings and mis-appropriation of activist writings by upper-caste Hindus.”

Kapil Seshasayee is a polymath, and a true original talent, both as a songwriter and as a soundsmith, a one-man combination of Scott Walker, Mark Hollis, Arca and Richard Dawson, creating something wholly unique. Combining Big Black style drum machine beats with Carnatic guitar ornamentations, stunning vocals and a penchant for unorthodox instrumentation such as the aquaphone, Kapil manages to be truly experimental yet still accessible.

A Sacred Bore — a concept album based around India’s caste system — is a piercing examination of the abusive treatment towards lower caste Indians aiming to raise awareness of countless barbaric practices still prevalent among South Asian communities both in India and in diaspora. Having already been featured in noted publications The Quietus & The Guardian, Kapil was recently on air with Bobby Friction on the BBC Asian Network, as a featured BBC Introducing Artist. Building upon the narrative of prior singles The Agitprop, A Sacred Bore, & Caustic Wit, Kapil expands on the issues, from the often-overlooked connections between the American far-right and upper-caste Indians to honour killings committed in diaspora which continue to be under-reported.

“Tombstone will bring you back to every heartbreak you’ve ever felt. The things you allow in life are the things that will continue and sometimes you have to realize that you’re in charge of your own happiness and that happiness might just mean it’s better to let go.” – Jaclyn Kenyon

Not knowing who you want to be is a normal part of growing up. Sometimes you have to search again and again to find your voice and who you are. Most importantly, being confident enough at a young age to keep pushing yourself and having the drive to succeed and work hard is why Jaclyn Kenyon is poised to make a real impact in Music.

With influence from such legends as Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Michael Jackson, and excited about such newer young female artists like Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, “A little Rock n’ Roll and A LOT Country” is what you can see and feel just by meeting this 20-year-old Ontario native, who has been going back and forth to Nashville since she was a teenager.

Always a strong performer, Jaclyn has been on the stage since the age of 12, when she was the youngest performer ever in Canada’s all-female artist showcase Honey Jam, competing against artists twice her age. This prestigious showcase, Canada’s largest and best known, had launched the careers of Nelly Furtado and Jully Black.

At 15 years old Jaclyn caught the eye of world-renowned vocal coach and multi-platinum producer “Mama” Jan Smith who immediately saw her raw talent. “Jaclyn, as a writer, I believe she can write for anybody,” Mama Jan said of Jaclyn, “Stylistically, she really doesn’t have a lot of limits, which is awesome.”

After that Jaclyn was fortunate enough to learn more about herself as an artist with multi-platinum writers and producers in Nashville and Los Angeles where she spent time trying to find what inspires her

“People have always had me try and sing different styles, whether it was Country, Rock or Pop. I’ve always gone along and tried every idea to find my voice. I’ve even had producers make me sing ‘hard rock’ “, says Jaclyn recanting some of the musical adventures she went through as a teenager, “One producer kept telling me to lose my ‘country twang’ in my voice and I didn’t realize that was just a natural part of me.

Jaclyn’s first single off her upcoming EP, “Daddy’s Got A Shotgun,” was Produced by Mike Krompass and co-written with Nashville luminaries Clay Mills and Steve Diamond.

In addition, Jaclyn has been writing in Nashville with Producer Mike Krompass, and writers Robbie Nevil, Rich Redmond.

Said of her brand new song ‘Daddy’s Got A Shotgun’, ”This is a cute fun song I wrote about an overprotective father, …no matter how old you are you’re always gonna be your daddy’s little girl, right?

Jaclyn is getting ready for what’s next, “With the great fans I’ve been building, I’ll be able to play live more often than I thought” Said an excited Jaclyn “ I’ll let you know when I play next. Please keep listening and sharing my music”
