Advance Praise for In The House Of Strange Affairs

“With a sheer multitude of musical styles and socialistic genres seamlessly meshing into a sordid melting pot of creative debauchery, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult retains the flag of anarchy among the masses with a ‘fuck you’ style and a ‘watch this’ smirk. Drenched in kitsch and soaked in gasoline, ‘In The House of Strange Affairs’ will become a looped playlist of hypnotic decadence in whatever listening receptical you choose.” – Jammerzine

“As far as a review goes, there’s not much I can say that could sell this record any more than it will already sell itself, T.K.K fans are practically addicts for this stuff. If the band emerged in 70’s New York in the cinematic world they’re so dearly devoted to they’d be on Travis Bickle’s hit-list for sure and would revel in in the fact of being so too. As uncompromising as they are unsavoury, T.K.K will always thrive in their very own house of strange affairs.” – Happy Metal Geek

“Eclectic, yet sonically appealing,by track two,the record has laid it’s landscape down, and has invited the listener in.With beats from the Land of Rhythm and Blues.raunchy vocals courtesy of lead singer Groovie Mann, and spoken-word overlays, the album is a strange affair all it’s own. Spotlight Tracks include “Gold To Grey”,the album opener,”Strange Affairs”,and the first song released from the album,”Year of the Klown“,which first saw release last year as part of a Sleazebox Records Sampler.” – Rock And Roll Infinity

“Per usual, TKK has outdone itself with originality. This phenomenal album is one that dreams are made of, a little dirty and a lot of good. The groove on this album is reminiscent of the new wave style of the eighties, and lets face it, it’s awesome. The sexual innuendos are noticeable. It is a sexy album, it is a good album, and it will get anyone in the mood for fun.” – Rock Documented

Hailing from Chicago’s renowned Wax Trax! Records stable of recording artists, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT have been conjuring up sonic tales of sex, blasphemy and kitschy horror since 1987. Along with label mates such as Front 242, KMFDM and Ministry, TKK (as often abbreviated), helped develop the industrial music genre, but they themselves continued to evolve, creating one of the most diverse repertoires in modern day music. Their sound can be described as electronic rock, heavily influenced by both disco and funk. One of their most distinctive characteristics is the use of spoken-word samples lifted from B-movies laced throughout their songs. Since debuting, they have released 13 studio albums, and their music has been featured in a variety of films, television/cable shows and soundtracks, all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.

Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night burritos while watching foreign horror movies on VHS rented from the corner store, began conspiring to make a trashy B movie (in the style of Russ Meyer and John Waters) to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the film itself never came to fruition, they also wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at Wax Trax! Records in Chicago, and when the label heard the tracks, they were intrigued and eager to release it.

The duo took the title of the film as the name for their band, and decided to focus on the musical group full time. Taking the stage names Groovie Mann (Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), they worked on creating an occult-biker meets disco-rock influence look for the project, which included a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers and dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult ”. This attracted the attention of indie fans and the ire of religious groups in practically equal measure. They released their first album I See Good Spirits And I See Bad Spirits in 1988 followed up by the hard-hitting dance floor classics “Kooler Than Jesus” and “A Girl Doesn’t Get Killed By A Make-Believe Lover Cuz It’s Hot,” which featured no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. By the time they released their second album, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.

In 1991, the band embarked on the decadent “Sexplosion! Tour”, titled after their third album. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”. The tour was a success and the record sold so well that they signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards, and the single “Sex On Wheelz” became a sizeable radio hit.

Hollywood also embraced the group, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect of their sound. The band’s music has appeared in a slew of films and tv/cable shows including, director Ralph Bakshi’s “Cool World”, Paul Verhoven’s saucy “Showgirls”, MTV’s “Beavis And Butthead”, and the cult film classic “The Crow”, in which the ensemble make a cameo appearance performing their song “After The Flesh”. More recently the KULT was written into the story line of the 2014 film “Sexy Evil Genius” starring Seth Green.

THRILL KILL KULT continue to release new material via their own SleazeBox Records label (sleazebox.com) and tour extensively with a rotating cast of musicians and dubious characters, however the core of the project has always been Nardiello and Daley, both on record and in the live act. Their performances sizzle with sleaze and infectious grooves, as Melody Maker once described, “A red hot cabaret from Hell”.

They begin their 4th decade this year with the release of a new album, In The House Of Strange Affairs on February 14th, and a North American tour commencing May 5th in Las Vegas. The current line-up is Groovie Mann (vocals), Buzz McCoy (keys), Mimi Star (bass), Justin Thyme (drums), Arena Rock (Bomb Gang Girl).

MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT Reveal New Single, “The Chains of Fame” Off Upcoming LP

Single

“America’s Most Dangerous Kult” has released their newest single, “The Chains of Fame.” Originally premiered on MXDWN, “The Chains Of Fame” is the debut track off of their upcoming LP, In The House Of Strange Affairs

“A dynamic song, “The Chains of the Fame” feels like a much shorter song than its four minute run-time. Cinematic strings and unexpected audio samples during the bridge of the song lead to a futuristic bridge that make the long-running and mega-influential band sound as relevant as ever.” MATT MATASCI

Spearfish, SD based electronic alternative rock act Blacklite District has released the official music video for “Hard Pill to Swallow,” the lead single off of their upcoming 4th album, Through the Ages. Originally premiered on Billboard, “Hard Pill to Swallow” was filmed outside the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in Anaheim, CA by DZFX Media.

“We worked with DZFX Media in Southern California on the video. I literally ran into him at Guitar Center while I was picking up something for our studio sessions for the new album. We started talking right there at the counter and ended up shooting three videos that week, with ‘Hard Pill to Swallow’ being the first.” – Kyle Pfeiffer

27337355 10154964953490738 7017111187126305604 n

Blacklite District has experienced a meteoric rise over the past several months, with their YouTube following edging near 100,000 in less than a year and their wildly popular Minecraft videos–“Cold As Ice” and “The Struggle”–garnering around 70 million views cumulatively. Says Kyle, “I work with multiple major YouTube channels that promote my music to a huge worldwide audience. It’s been amazing as an independent artist of this generation to reach an audience of this size.” As a result of their rapidly expanding youth audience, the duo has seen incredible online sales and Spotify streams and playlistings, as well as significant Mainstream Rock Songs Billboard charting.

Blacklite District follows no rules. With sounds of everything from electronic, EDM and hip hop, to hard rock and alternative, the band truly stands out from the pack of what has becomes today’s generic sounding “Active Rock”. Formed in 2012 by Kyle Pfeiffer and Roman James, ages 12 and 11 respectively, the band grew organically in their local music scene through the years to come. In 2011, BLD was discovered by Grammy Award-winning producer, Stephen Short (Paul McCartney, Queen), which resulted in a 10 day recording session at the world’s largest residential recording studio, Sonic Ranch, just outside of Mexico in Tonillo, TX. The group re-located to Los Angeles and played some of the most famous venues in the world for the remainder of 2011.

In 2013, the group released “With Me Now” as the lead from it’s debut album Worldwide Controversy. “With Me Now” immediately went to #1 on SiriusXM channels Octane and Faction, hit the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart (#32), and sold 100,000 copies. BLD went on a very successful US tour with Saving Abel in Jan-Apr 2014, with 26 of those shows SOLD OUT. After a legal battle with their management and record label, Blacklite District went on hiatus in late 2014.

On August 23, “The Struggle” was release to radio and To Whom It May Concern went for pre-order at digital retailers. Revolver Magazine premiered the music video for “The Struggle” on August 25. The band also announced a 41 date tour called “The Struggle Is Real Tour”. Blacklite District released a Nightcore remix of “The Struggle” to YouTube on September 6, which got over 2,000,000 plays and resulted in the single breaking the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator chart at #36.

One month later, on October 6, the group released a Nightcore remix of “We Are The Danger” which got over 400,000 plays on YouTube. A couple of weeks later, the band released “Broken Souls” to radio, as well as a Nightcore remix which resulted in 500,000 plays and hitting #30 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator. This was the second song in the month of October to break the Top 40 (along with “The Struggle.”)

“The Ghost of You and Me” was released as a music video and a Nightcore remix on December 28, 2016. The song was yet again a success for Blacklite District resulting in 400,000.

On January 20, 2017, BLD released “Living In A Nightmare” as the first single from upcoming album Instant Gratification. With a coinciding Nightcore release, “Living In A Nightmare” broke the Top 25 on the BDS Indicator chart, marking the bands highest spot in chart history. The song has been streamed over 250,000 times.

On February 24, famed radio DJ Lou Brutus posted the bands video for “Cold As Ice”, which was released the same day. The song scored a whopping 350,000 streams in its first week alone, and as of May 2017, has over 3.5 million combined views on YouTube. “Cold As Ice” serves as the second single from Instant Gratification. In the summer of 2017, “Cold As Ice” was added to Spotify’s “Rock Hard” playlist, and was put into rotation on SiriusXM’s alternative channel Faction. In October, “Cold As Ice” was added to rotation on SiriusXM Octane, and it’s Minecraft music video has over 10 million views on YouTube. There are about 4 videos about a Herobrine invasion with zombies and “nether watchers” and how the main character, a player in a blue suit, survives. There are 4 songs in total in the order of The Struggle, Cold as Ice, We are the Danger (possibly not from Blacklite District), and Just so you Know.

Blacklite District released their third album Instant Gratification on September 22, going Top 10 on Amazon’s Top Electronic Albums chart.

AMORIELLO Release Lyric Video for Debut Single, “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice),” Off of Upcoming, Self-Titled Album

Amoriello - Digitial Artwork 1600x1600

Neo-Classical Hard Rock Project AMORIELLO–launched by renown guitarist, educator, and author Tom Amoriello and featuring former members of Black Sabbath, Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, TNT, Loudness, Dokken, Impellitteri, and Cacophony–has released a lyric video for “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice),” the debut single off of their upcoming self-titled LP. A tribute to metal legand Ronnie James Dio, “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice)” includes a thunderous drum solo for 16 bars by the former Sabbath/Dio drummer with an emotional vocal delivery from Nick Z Marino from the current Malmsteen lineup. Impelliterri bassist James Amelio Pulli and ex-Yngwie keysman Michael Troy also contribute their substantial talents to the track.

Player

“The entire AMORIELLO album is emotional, and ‘Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice)’ is one that takes on the unending conflict between two sides: aggression versus calm, combativeness versus compromise. The music is taut and stormy, then somber and solemn.

The whole album is a testament to the metal legends who inspired me, written with world class musicianship from those same icons. I dedicated this track to Ronnie James Dio (I attended his last concert in Atlantic City, NJ) and wanted someone who had been a part of his sound, hence Vinny Apice. In the course of of recording, showcasing his unique style, he let loose for 16 bars in that incredible solo, and all of the ambitions were met.”

I, Alone Releases “Good Fight” Lyric Video Off of Debut EP, ‘Collateral Beauty’

Alternative Rock/Pop act I, Alone has released the lyric videos for three of the singles off of the debut EP, Collateral Beauty, with “Good Fight” garnering over 50,000 plays.

“Good Fight was written from a nontraditional point of view compared to my typical writing perspective. I study Grammar and Language to greatly improve my lyrical content and really dive into the lyric. With focus on rhythm, rhyme, symbolism and metaphor, I take every line as its own cohesive expression. Ive found this most often leads to a relatable product that paints a picture in a dynamic fashion. Generally speaking, my songs begin as short stories and I pull from that to form a broad, but appropriate idea. However I wanted to do something different with ‘Good Fight.’ I wanted to be a bit more specific and concrete. During the writing process, I was overcome by the experience and promise of the EP. I wrote ‘Good Fight’ as a song that summarizes my journey through music. Yet still, it’s such a relatable song to so many. I hear all the time that listeners identify the content with overcoming bullying, finding self confidence and hope for the future. It truly is a feel good, I told you so, type of song.” – I, Alone

It takes a lot of strength to accept who you are,” says Brandon Zastrow. “I am becoming comfortable and confident in what I have to offer the world. The peace that comes from within permeates into my writing, performance and my life. I have been searching for myself for many years, and I believe I am beginning to crawl towards my greatest version as an individual and as a musician.”

Being the front-man, the main songwriter and the guitarist for his solo moniker I, Alone, Zastrow is becoming a visible and consistent alternative/rock artist that cannot go without notice. Since the release of his debut EP Collateral Beautyon 8 December 2017, I, Alone has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from major press agencies across North America and Europe. This has permeated into all aspects of his life, including his music and the business that comes with it.

“With the relative infancy to my project, I am forced to be a man of many trades. This can become exhausting, but I have also come to find the success and accomplishment tremendously fulfilling. I am responsible for my successes and my failures. I promised myself that I wouldn’t allow the same failure to reoccur twice. My vision and creativity has flourished as a solo artist. No one else’s inactivity or misdirection can hold me back.”

One thing that has kept the fire burning for Zastrow has been his obsession to constantly challenge himself. “I always try to push outside of familiar parameters,” says the singer. “If it’s anything like what has already been done, there is no meaning or purpose behind your art. Much too often, artists are speaking without a true voice. Too many are filling lines or notes because they fit, not because they take you somewhere better. I hope that this can be easily seen through by a good listener.”

“If you look at the groups doing it for twenty-plus years,” he continues, “they were always changing their style, testing the water and derailing from what was expected. So there’s always that effort to push yourself as an artist, but I never want to abandon that sense of melody and connection that listeners can grab hold of, whether it conjures up memories or helps them heal. That’s what I love about music, when it makes me feel something. It takes me back to those moments.”

As I, Alone continues to expand through media, radio and audiences, Zastrow will continue to look at contemporaries for examples of acts able to maintain their relevance while rock & roll faces an uphill struggle in the mass media. “Those guys are inspirational, showing that you can have a strong presence, even if what you are known for doing seems bleak.”

Forward we go, always together.
