Singer | Songwriter | Guitarist | Musician | Rocker – Home grown New York Indie-Rock Recording Artist. Frank Palangi fuels a refreshing positive outlook with his quote “NO PLAN B” that acts as his mission. Serving up a feeding frenzy of edgy heavy guitars, deep n gritty vocals and a modern yet post grunge – old school rock tone. Starting out after leaving high school with a solid support system backing, Frank’s dream of music began a few years later on a path that led to the 2011 debut self-titled Frank Palangi EP. Influenced by bands from the 80’s (MetallicaOzzyDef LeppardMegadeth), 90’s (CreedGodsmack3 Doors Down), 2000’s (DaughtryThree Days GraceShinedown), he sculpted his musical motifs in the music mecca Nashville, TN. Leading up after with the I Am Ready EP – Set Me Free EP and an upcoming untitled 4th EP, working with various industry producers and national act band members from Day of Fire – Pillar – Kelly Clarkson – Daughry and Saving Abel. Frank isn’t the stereotypical rocker with the rocknroll lifestyle you may think they are viewed as. From early childhood he learned to adapt to his chronic medical illnesses that impacted his decisions in his everyday life. Turning it all around, he used it to bring his dreams into reality saying “I have no Plan B backing down on my dreams.”

With Palangi’s self promotion, dedication, and determination to his craft, his energetic live performances steadily grew his fanbase with online social media support. CAMU Releases Official Music Video for “The One You Leave Behind”

CAMU COVER123

Hawaii based, NAKED front-man CAMU has released the official music video for “The One You Leave Behind,” part 2 of the video Trilogy. Directed, edited, and produced by CAMU, “The One You Leave Behind” was filmed throughout the Island of Hawaii.

Player

Nothing great ever comes easy & the most rewarding way is usually the hard way, which is the essence of “The One You Leave Behind”. Four years ago when my son was 8 months old, my wife & I mustered up the balls to leave everyone & everything we knew behind and move 7000 miles away to start a new chapter in our life. The task was so momentous that I had to cruise through it at times. What I left behind was the person I had always been, everyone I knew, and who everyone knew me as. Everything I experienced in the last few years, becoming a dad twice over, starting a business & relocating again has been new and foreign to me but in the end I came out the ringer a much better & more fulfilled person. Iv’e always gone with the flow in life, never could have imagined it would take me from Helsinki to Hawaii.

“The One You Leave Behind” has been a very difficult yet rewarding song to write & record. I completely changed my approach with this one and dug deep. If you harness the spirit that your inner voice represents you can achieve anything. Your gut feeling is fire. Don’t make plans just do.
The song took on a life of it’s own and consumed me and I gave it my all. The song contains some of the actual demo recording as I wanted to keep the songs authentic feel alive. It was recorded on three different continents and is raw, honest and a testament of who I have become, showcasing a different side of me. I actually recorded my vocals on my balcony at night, and I have to say I liked singing this song as I wasn’t belting all the way through. I’m happy and relieved it’s finally released.

What started off as a nice little riff inspired by attending what was to be Tom Petty’s last show ever at the Hollywood Bowl, made me question my sanity at times, adding to it the fact that I recorded this song between 1 and 3 AM exclusively, like a hermit isolated deep in the jungle of Hawaii Island.
I had every technical set back under the sun with this one, broken hard drives, crashed drones & lost tracks. I almost died falling into the river above a 40 feet tall waterfall, only saved by grabbing onto a rock at the last second.
The video is something I am very proud of, the coolest thing I have ever created up till this point. It really showcases how magical the place I now call home is. While filming and recording “The One You Leave Behind” we were hit by hurricanes, floods and a volcanic eruption, yet beauty & life prevails.
Part 2 of the Trilogy is about giving into the universe and grabbing life by it’s balls and riding that wave from infinity till beyond, if you dare. Trust me, you’ll be better than fine. Life is magical so enjoy it.

Part 1: The story so far

After a 8 year hiatus from releasing music, the first thing I will be releasing is a trilogy of songs & their corresponding videos (“Empire State Of Sound” being the first of the trilogy) that unfold the journey of my life throughout these last 8 years, musically & personally. Once NAKED disbanded after 10 years, 4 albums and two world tours I had had enough, the final straw came when our manager Bill Aucoin (KISS & Billy Idol) passed away, everything fell apart, I left, I hung it up and I disappeared. NAKED had been my band since I was a teenager. I’m grown now & I have 2 children, & spend most of my time in Hawaii. A lot has changed obviously, but I’ve written & recorded a lot of music during my time living away from Finland. I’ve had so many life altering & mind blowing experiences, so I’ve got a lot of new song material & the trilogy songs reflect and tells my story. This new release is all about me coming out & being me, Camu. Naked is still my band & will be touring as my band when we do our summer tour in 2019, but this is pure Camu music the way I have always envisioned it. As the new music being released ventures further from the straight rock music we used to play back in the day, we will be releasing it under a new better fitting new name, CAMU.

“VIZA IS ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE AND INTERESTING BANDS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. THEIR LIVE SHOWS ARE ENERGETIC AND FUN”

SERJ TANKIAN

Viza continues to captivate the global music scene with an erratically amusing blend of energized international rock. Unique in its musical arsenal is the inclusion of loud and percussion blended with more traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass, and drums. This fascinating fusion, combined with dramatic and powerful live performances have garnered Viza significant success all over the world.

Among the band’s extensive touring schedule, Viza has performed at one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious music events at Hungary’s Sziget Festival’s main stage (alongside Korn, The Killers, Axwell, The Vaccines, and The XX, among several others) as part of a month long European tour in August 2012. Viza has also performed at Sweden’s Malmofestivalen, Norway’s Kartfestivalen, Slovenia’s Schengenfest and Trnfest and Greece’s Rockwave Festival (alongside The Prodigy, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, and Marky Ramone’s Blitzkreig), and has toured Europe 6 times in the past 2 years alone.

Demonstrating a knack for reinventing old rock classics, Viza covered the Doors tune “Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)” by adding its own strong seasonings and aggressive fusion style in a compelling reimagination of this classic rock ballad, which is available for free download.

Aside from a passion for music, touring and song writing, Viza’s extensive performances around the globe also serve as their voice for promoting social consciousness of human rights and community issues – as well as providing opportunities to fund-raise for various charities, homeless shelters and orphanages.

Half The Animal Harness Vintage Pop Energy & Imagery with “Bad Bad Love”

LA Based Alternative Rock band Half The Animal have channeled all of the best of throwback ’80s bright energy and color with the official music video for their sophomore single, “Bad Bad Love.” Originally premiered on Atwood Magazine, “Bad Bad Love” is currently available to stream and download via Noise Nest Records.

“‘Bad Bad Love’ is a song about the power of a woman’s love on a man who doesn’t know any better,” says vocalist Chase Johnson.

Bursting with bright background colors and supremely dated video effects, “Bad Bad Love” is the sort of video you watch in incredulity, unable to take your eyes off the screen. The fittingly fast-paced visual has tons of movement going on in every second, keeping viewers a little dazzled and on edge throughout. It’s evident that Half the Animal have given all their love into this, and they certainly nail the retro look. – Atwood Magazine

Formed in 2016, Los Angeles-based alternative rock quartet Half the Animal produces an infectious sound, which blends catchy, hook-laden rock attitude and pop-driven styles. Originally founded by vocalist Chase Johnson and drummer Nick Gross—who were featured cast members in the hit MTV reality TV series ‘Laguna Beach’ during their formative days as the band Open Air Stereo—Half the Animal also includes bassist Evan Smith (Silversun Pickups/Chromeo/Big Data) and classically trained guitarist Dan Graham.

Half the Animal made impact with their memorable debut single “Babylon,” a grandiose, stadium-sized rock anthem that became the band’s first-ever viral hit, garnering over 1 million streams online, collectively, since its release in July 2016. The song quickly earned the band nationwide industry attention and strong radio support on multiple SiriusXM channels, including Top 40 radio station Hits 1 and The Pulse, as well as regular airplay on tastemaker Los Angeles stations ALT 98.7 and KROQ, which featured Half the Animal on their celebrated Locals Only program. Collectively, Half the Animal also count over 1 million YouTube views to date and have been featured by ‘Billboard’ and Ones to Watch (Live Nation).

In fall 2017, Half the Animal released the successful follow-up single “Bad Bad Love” via the group’s independent imprint Noise Nest Records. Featuring a lush soundscape built atop hypnotic vocal melodies, piercing piano chords and dreamy synths, the track was highlighted on Spotify’s influential New Music Friday playlist. The band also launched a 33-date US Fall tour in September 2017 alongside Atlas Genius in support of the track.

Athena Hiotis and Nina Themelis Aim to Inspire with “Unbreakable: Our Story”

Athena Hiotis (RÊVE) has teamed up with Baltimore artist and childhood friend Nina Themelis to release their inspiring concept video. “Unbreakable:Our Story” features a diverse array of women’s empowering stories, from being proud to have gained weight to addiction victories to losing a spouse and fighting to change laws to protect others set to the Athena and Ian Kaine MacGregor written track, “Unbreakable.”

We had one rule for them. They had to be positive in the syntax. Words like ‘can’t’, ‘don’t’, ‘I’m not’ were not allowed. They had to write their statements in an affirming way. – Athena

The reason I was so excited to work on this project is because of how frequently our culture perpetuates the idea of women working in competition with one another. It was important to work on something with strangers, or mild acquaintances, where the unifying thread was how we empower ourselves and each other. –Nina

Visual artist and creative director, Tré made a bold appearance in the short and penned an equally bold statement, recalling her experience participating in the making of the video. “Support is always important; we can’t expect others to support us if we don’t make an effort to support each other. Today, women support women because now we can, and now we must.” – Tré (Visual Artist and Creative Director)

Molehill Release Official Music Video for “Hearts on Fire”

Currently gigging around Austin, TX for SXSW, the progressive indie rock band Molehill has released the official music video for their single “Hearts on Fire”. The song is the title track from their new EP (releasing on May 12th) and was inspired by the “Euromaidan” protests in the Ukraine, the birthplace of vocalist Peter Manhart’s mother.

We wanted a video that would reinforce the lyrics and message of the song while also adding additional layers through the visual format,” says Manhart. “Over a couple phone calls with director Matt DiMare, we were all on board with using footage of protests and revolutions. We also tossed around the idea of people being forced to watch this footage in almost a Clockwork Orange – type scenario. Matt came up with a storyline for the video which we all loved – the ‘angel’ character, played by Kit Hamlen, finds Peter walking through downtown Chicago like a zombie, unaware of his surroundings (not an unusual sight in any city these days), takes him to this strange building and forces him to watch protest footage and ‘pay attention.’ He sort of ‘wakes up’ out of his previous state and takes to the street himself to carry on her work.

“Hearts on Fire” was produced and engineered by J. Hall and Molehill, and is available on Spotify and iTunes. Pre-order the EP here.

About Molehill:
Molehill had humble beginnings in small local venues in Champaign, IL, and has since grown into an established presence in the Chicago music scene. They have played over 300 shows between the Midwest and Eastern United States, including some of the more prestigious venues in Chicago, as well as national (and international) festivals like Summerfest, Musikfest, SXSW, and Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Molehill has built a reputation for explosive live shows and a tireless work ethic, as well as the work they’ve done towards fostering a more friendly and cooperative music community in the city of Chicago. They were one of the founding members of the Chicago Roots Collective, which was a 10-band collective working together to promote the Chicago music scene and their music, and for the last 2 years Molehill has curated a monthly email list to dozens of local bands to try to promote live music in Chicago and encourage local bands to attend shows, discover new bands, and support each other even more.

Peter Manhart, lead singer, lyricist, and guitar player, started playing piano at the age of 3. At the University of Illinois, he pursued a double major in engineering physics and piano pedagogy, but dropped the piano major after 2 years so that he could focus his practice time on the guitar. He went on to get his physics degree, but also took numerous creative writing and poetry classes to develop his lyric writing ability. After moving from Champaign to Chicago, Peter met bassist Trevor Jones, who was studying double bass at DePaul University. Trevor had spent a large portion of his life in various orchestras and has always had a penchant for well organized noise, whatever the genre. He also grew up watching his father, a music professor, manage and play in a 16-piece jazz big band. This instilled in Trevor a strong business and management sense, and helped him complement Peter not only musically but with the business aspect of the band as well. After Peter and Trevor started working together, drummer Devin Staples joined the group. Devin has been a fixture in the Chicago gospel scene for years, and had also been a member of two highly-respected Chicago bands, NYCO and Cassius Clay. The 4th and final piece of the puzzle, keyboard/synth player Greg Van Zuiden, joined soon after. Greg had recently graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a music degree, moved to Chicago, and was looking for a band to join. As the youngest member of Molehill, he was the light-hearted “glue” that helped the band stay strong.

The Hearts on Fire EP continues the group’s tradition of storytelling in music. The dark, brooding “Old Soldier” tells the story of a proud, religious, soldier, living out his last days in a nursing home – “And he sits in a dead room, sterilizer and perfume, and the lights are slowly growing dim.” “Reverie” has the narrator lamenting the loss of a parent long ago, while also thanking that parent, for “you made me the person I am.” Last but not least, the title track was inspired by the “Euromaidan” protests in Ukraine – the birthplace of Peter Manhart’s mother. The song is about the common people rising up to fight an oppressive regime. Though the people in this protest were unarmed, the government sent riot police and snipers to kill them, and yet the people’s numbers kept growing until they were finally heard. This song is about the strength of community, sheer willpower, and the resonance of a good and virtuous idea. Though the few in control may try to keep the will of the people down, the masses can change the world if they fight together. With the recent wave of public dissent and protests happening around the world, this seems like the appropriate time to share this song.
