VARNA Release Lyric Video for “The Craving”

VarnaTheCravingArt

Los Angeles Hard Rock Band VARNA has released the lyric video for their single, “The Craving.”

“We are extremely proud to release such high driven female powered beast as ‘The Craving’ for 2019. This song about the push and pull of primal emotions you have instantly with someone–that carnal desire–but it never transforms into what you would like. You are stuck with the craving. Sometimes we just want what we aren’t meant to have.” – VARNA

“’The Craving”’hit my ears last Friday and I definitely had it on REPEAT all weekend. You should, too. Singer Tiana Woods once again knocks it out of the park, delivering a track that lyrically arrives just in time for Halloween. The hook is infectious, and the overall tempo would go great alongside a scene where the hero or heroine is running away from their obsessed would-be paramour.” –Amps & Green Screens

You’ve read or heard about the phrase False Flag, but never paid attention until you saw it used on YouTube or some other social media sites. False flag events happen more than you think and they’re not specific to one country. The lyrics of the track and the images on the video are meant to alert you. They are a call to WAKE UP. Your governments aren’t your friends or your protectors. Know your enemy. FFF – Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis

New Jersey based Metal band CITY OF TYRANTS has released the official lyric video for “Astral Projection,” the first single off of their upcoming album, REVELATIONS. Due out 11/16/2018, REVELATIONS will be a concept album addressing the conflict and confusion of pursuing ones personal ideology.

“In 2018 we wrote and recorded what became Revelations. With the help of co writer Lukas Magyar (Veil Of Maya) we set out to create music that we liked and something that we could all be proud of. Stylistically, the biggest change is the addition of clean vocals contributed by our drummer. Revelations is a concept album telling the story of a god-like figure chosen to fulfill a prophecy. He is faced with several challenges that will eventually break him down causing him to become the evil which he sought to eradicate in the beginning of the story.” – City Of Tyrants

City of Tyrants was formed in 2015 by Kevin Michael (drums), Ed Tyler (guitar), Chingkhei Akoijam (guitar) & Sean Mcgurr (vocals). During a time where the music scene in New Jersey was ever changing, City of Tyrants set out with one core goal in mind and that was to create music that they liked and could be proud of. After the release of the 2016 EP Erebus, the band saw the introduction of new vocalist Charles Horning and bassist Josh Palmer. With the new lineup, COT began the writing and recording of their new album, Revelations, in 2018. Underneath all of the crushing drums, polyrhythmic guitars and soaring vocals, Revelations delivers a strong concept which is both interesting and telling of today’s society.

The album is told from a first person perspective and is the story of a god-like character who is chosen to bring peace to a post apocalyptic world. The character ultimately ends up in battle with himself, fighting his urges to become the exact opposite of what he set out to be. “Fans will have to listen to the album through to find out how the story ends” adds Kevin.

In a sea of what seems to be a growing number of bands in the genre, City of Tyrants intends to set themselves apart with Revelations. “We hope that people enjoy it is as much as we do and are engaged by the story line” adds Kevin.

Revelations will be available on all major music platforms November 16, 2018.

Aftermath Release Official Lyric Video for “Smash Reset Control”

Aftermath Band Photo Tight 2

Chicago based Progressive Thrash Metal Band AFTERMATH has released the official lyric video for “Smash Reset Control,” off of their upcoming LP, There is Something Wrong.

“Smash Reset Control lyrically and musically captures the angst millions feel daily. The system isn’t there to protect them or make their lives better. It’s really there to protect those with the real power. Not the puppets in Congress or the WH. The ones behind the scenes. Time to reset the power structure. The point of this track and the record is to expose the real enemy.”

Chicago’s favourite progressive thrash sons are back with new material and, on this evidence, those of you expecting the technically adept, progressively-minded Aftermath found on underground 90’s classic Eyes Of Tomorrow will be left wanting. Instead, on “Smash Reset Control” at least, Aftermath circa 2018 are back to being a crossover thrash colossus, thrashin’ hard and fast and forever adorned with a bug-eyed sneer! – WORSHIP METAL

AMORIELLO Release Lyric Video for Debut Single, “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice),” Off of Upcoming, Self-Titled Album

Amoriello - Digitial Artwork 1600x1600

Neo-Classical Hard Rock Project AMORIELLO–launched by renown guitarist, educator, and author Tom Amoriello and featuring former members of Black Sabbath, Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, TNT, Loudness, Dokken, Impellitteri, and Cacophony–has released a lyric video for “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice),” the debut single off of their upcoming self-titled LP. A tribute to metal legand Ronnie James Dio, “Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice)” includes a thunderous drum solo for 16 bars by the former Sabbath/Dio drummer with an emotional vocal delivery from Nick Z Marino from the current Malmsteen lineup. Impelliterri bassist James Amelio Pulli and ex-Yngwie keysman Michael Troy also contribute their substantial talents to the track.

Player

“The entire AMORIELLO album is emotional, and ‘Battle Song (feat. Vinny Appice)’ is one that takes on the unending conflict between two sides: aggression versus calm, combativeness versus compromise. The music is taut and stormy, then somber and solemn.

The whole album is a testament to the metal legends who inspired me, written with world class musicianship from those same icons. I dedicated this track to Ronnie James Dio (I attended his last concert in Atlantic City, NJ) and wanted someone who had been a part of his sound, hence Vinny Apice. In the course of of recording, showcasing his unique style, he let loose for 16 bars in that incredible solo, and all of the ambitions were met.”

PRIMITIVE RACE Release Lyric Video for “Bed Six” Off of ‘Soul Pretender’

Primitive Race Cartoon

PRIMITIVE RACE, featuring the late, legendary former FAITH NO MORE and BAD BRAINS front-man Chuck Mosley, has released a lyric video for the single “Bed Six,” off of their 2017 released Soul Pretender LP.

“The funny thing about Bed Six is all of our songs on Soul Pretender had working titles of Bed and just a number. For whatever reason Chuck decided he was just going to call this song Bed Six and work the title into the song. I gave him so much hell about that and he refused to change it. So we ended up just going with it. It was just an inside joke.” – Chris Kniker

“When I listened to the music, ideas just came pouring out,” Mosley had previously stated. “I couldn’t say no to doing the record. When we completed the first few tracks, I found myself wishing I had written them. Not just the lyrics…just good heavy riffs and grooves really sucked me in. The melodies and words came super easy with this music. Even though it’s a whole different vibe it brought out a side of me I haven’t experienced since writing with Faith No More.”

Early Praise for Soul Pretender:
It’s hard not to view Primitive Race’s sophomore outing, Soul Pretender, as the next chapter in Chuck Mosley’s epic comeback story. On the record, out Friday on Metropolis, Mosley is positively radiant, sounding better, sharper and more engaged than he has since the heyday of Faith No More’s Introduce Yourself. After years of being relegated to the struggles of “solo” outings and hard-to-find Cement discs, Mosley here is raspy – he wears his age incredibly well – and utterly menacing as he lurks behind lurching guitars and the occasional twinkle of a keyboard, the landscape darker than his previous work. And, damn, does it work! – Pop Dose

If Primitive Race’s stylistic trajectory is to be considered, as exhibited in the group’s two albums; add to that, the invigorating (but at the same time, inadvertent) inclusion of Mosley’s memories into this latest offering – then there should be something more that can be expected from the collective’s future projects. For the meantime, let your senses get drowned in pleasant torture in the sonic machinery of this scorching undertaking. – CrypticRock

Time will tell what the next incarnation of Primitive Race will hold, but if the first two albums are any indication, then it should be just as great while continuing to establish the supergroup’s place in the world of punk and industrial rock. – mxdwn

“Mosley discussed Soul Pretender with me during our interview about two months ago, praising it as unlike anything he had ever heard and claiming that it spoke to him in a way that he felt beyond compelled to work on this project. After listening to the album, I can understand why Mosley was drawn to the project as Soul Pretender is a unique and seamless collision of alternative, industrial, and punk rock. Just as Mosley said, it really is unlike anything else. His pride for the album as a whole was not only completely justified, but his own performance stands out as one of the best among his diverse career. While it is a common cliché to claim someone went out with a bang at the top of their game, it’s clear that Mosley truly did. As a whole, Soul Pretender, is an excellent record and a must hear for fans of 90’s alternative and hard rock as well as those who prefer modern rock from the last decade. After listening to Soul Pretender a number of times, it is clear that Primitive Race is truly a band to watch out for.” Spill Magazine
