AESTHETIC PERFECTION Releases Dark Cover of N*SYNC Mega-Hit Single “Bye Bye Bye” Off of Upcoming ‘Ebb and Flow’ EP!

SEVERED NATIONS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR with GRENDEL and PETER TURNS PIRATE Dates Announced

100% independent industrial pop act Aesthetic Perfection has taken the N*SYNC hit single “Bye Bye Bye” from bubblegum pop to sensually tense, dark electronic ballad, pairing minimal synths and brightly expressive vocal styling for a deeply morose aural experience. “Bye Bye Bye” is the first single off of Aesthetic Perfection’s upcoming EP, Ebb and Flow, due out February 2, 2018.

Uncertain times call for bombastic art, and Aesthetic Perfection has returned to answer that call with the new single, “Ebb and Flow.” Recounting the highs and lows of the heart, the single’s swagger recalls a not-so-distant past where the wars were cold and gratuitous excess burned hot; but producer Daniel Graves is not one for overwrought nostalgia. He keeps us focused on the future with clean electro rhythms and smooth vocal harmonies backed by aggressive percussion fit for an arena. “Ebb and Flow” sees you, Top 40 radio, and raises you an Industrial Pop romp in an underground nightclub.

Available worldwide February 2nd, the three-track single contains an infinitely danceable remix by Miggiddo (alias of Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh) and a surprise bonus cover of N*Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye,” featuring Nikki Misery of New Year’s Day on guitar. Graves may be tipping his hat to the past, but the “Ebb and Flow” single sets its sights on the sound of tomorrow.

Interview with Avrell

Avrell is a Latin-influenced rock band from Denver, Colorado. The trio have recently hit the ground running with their first stuido album in the works. With influences like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, and Coldplay infused with their Spanish-language roots, extraordinary arrangements, and catchy vocals, we can be sure to expect something huge from Avrell in 2018!

Who are each of you and what are your roles in the band?

Geo is the lead singer and plays acoustic guitar. Edgar plays the keyboards and Ever plays the bass and sings backup vocals for live performances.  We write the music and make arrangements together.

What’s everyone’s musical history?

Ever has been playing music since high school. He started with the saxophone and quickly found a love for all instruments. He also plays piano, bass, a little acoustic guitar, and an assortment of wind instruments.

How did you all meet? When did Avrell form?

Avrell formed when Ever and Geo met. We both wanted to make music and decided to do so. At first, Ever would switch between piano and bass, but once Edgar arrived, Ever took to the bass and we’ve been making music together ever since.

Why did you guys choose the name Avrell, and what meaning does it have for you?

A lot of great things have happened in our lives so we wanted to keep the ball rolling on that.  We however didn’t like the name April so we searched for a variation in another language and found Avrel to be a great sounding word which meant the same.  We then added an extra “L” to make it ours.

When writing a song, do you write the music or the lyrics first?

We have a large selection of songs, a large number of them written by Geo who writes the lyrics with the music at the same time. Sometimes we’ll all sit and finish the lyrics when he gets stuck.  Ever will usually write the music and then add the lyrics to them.

What other artists have influenced your musical style?

We have been influenced by many different artists from very different places around the world: Coldplay, Mana, Mark Anthony, Maroon 5, Camila. We take a little from every style and try to make new rhythms from what we have learned. We all grew up in different places around the world and listened to different styles, which we’ve all mixed into our songs.

Besides music, what other things have influenced your music?

Life in general has been a big influence.  We express ourselves through our songs.  Our life experiences are reflected in the lyrics and in the energy that we put in every arrangement.

What are your hobbies aside from music?

There are many hobbies we share and when one of us gets in to something new, the rest of the band tends to follow.  We snowboard, which in the summer turns into longboarding. We work on cars to relax sometimes. We also like to enjoy the great outdoors by hiking, off-roading, or perhaps just sightseeing.

In your experience, how does music from another language connect with the people who don’t speak it? Do you think music can bring people of different cultures and backgrounds together?

We have noticed that when we play our songs whether people understand the lyrics or not, they get the feeling that we are trying to convey. From our perspective, music in itself is a language which crosses barriers that everyone can understand.   It doesn’t matter where you are from – when you hear a good beat your body moves regardless of whether you understand the lyrics or not. This brings people together no matter what their background is.

If you could change an event in your past, would you? Which one and why?

There is nothing either of us would change of our past because all we have lived and learned is what is creating Avrell now. Our separate experiences have brought us together to create this band which will allow us to share our music with the world.

What has been the best thing about being in a band so far?

The best thing has been learning to understand another human being as they struggle through life to try to make the best of things.  We all have our personal lives but we have come together as a family and are learning to understand each other. This teaches us to also understand everyone around us because everyone has their struggles, as well as hopes and dreams, just as we do.

When can we expect your debut album to be released? Will there be a producer?  And will you be touring on that album?

We are now working on our album, spending what seems like countless hours in the studio and in rehearsals trying to make it the best possible.  We have a producer:  ( Guys please advice on what we should comment here )  We are hoping to tour on that album as soon as its released.

What else would you like people to know about Avrell?

We are friends and family people. We have put a lot of our time and love into these songs in order to give our listeners the best of us. Hopefully one day we will inspire other young artists and dreamers to follow what they dream to accomplish one day. The greatest and most priceless reward at the end will be the fulfillment of living this life -not just existing – by doing what we really love.

Thank you so much!

  – Avrell

Half The Animal Harness Vintage Pop Energy & Imagery with “Bad Bad Love”

LA Based Alternative Rock band Half The Animal have channeled all of the best of throwback ’80s bright energy and color with the official music video for their sophomore single, “Bad Bad Love.” Originally premiered on Atwood Magazine, “Bad Bad Love” is currently available to stream and download via Noise Nest Records.

“‘Bad Bad Love’ is a song about the power of a woman’s love on a man who doesn’t know any better,” says vocalist Chase Johnson.

Bursting with bright background colors and supremely dated video effects, “Bad Bad Love” is the sort of video you watch in incredulity, unable to take your eyes off the screen. The fittingly fast-paced visual has tons of movement going on in every second, keeping viewers a little dazzled and on edge throughout. It’s evident that Half the Animal have given all their love into this, and they certainly nail the retro look. – Atwood Magazine

Formed in 2016, Los Angeles-based alternative rock quartet Half the Animal produces an infectious sound, which blends catchy, hook-laden rock attitude and pop-driven styles. Originally founded by vocalist Chase Johnson and drummer Nick Gross—who were featured cast members in the hit MTV reality TV series ‘Laguna Beach’ during their formative days as the band Open Air Stereo—Half the Animal also includes bassist Evan Smith (Silversun Pickups/Chromeo/Big Data) and classically trained guitarist Dan Graham.

Half the Animal made impact with their memorable debut single “Babylon,” a grandiose, stadium-sized rock anthem that became the band’s first-ever viral hit, garnering over 1 million streams online, collectively, since its release in July 2016. The song quickly earned the band nationwide industry attention and strong radio support on multiple SiriusXM channels, including Top 40 radio station Hits 1 and The Pulse, as well as regular airplay on tastemaker Los Angeles stations ALT 98.7 and KROQ, which featured Half the Animal on their celebrated Locals Only program. Collectively, Half the Animal also count over 1 million YouTube views to date and have been featured by ‘Billboard’ and Ones to Watch (Live Nation).

In fall 2017, Half the Animal released the successful follow-up single “Bad Bad Love” via the group’s independent imprint Noise Nest Records. Featuring a lush soundscape built atop hypnotic vocal melodies, piercing piano chords and dreamy synths, the track was highlighted on Spotify’s influential New Music Friday playlist. The band also launched a 33-date US Fall tour in September 2017 alongside Atlas Genius in support of the track.

Interview with Public Display of Aggression

Denver’s Public Display of Aggression took a few minutes to answer our questions about their new drummer, working with Dennis Shinn on their new album To Live and Die in Your Suit and Tie, and of course, pizza. If you’re in the Denver area, check out their upcoming benefit show for Toys for Tots at the Marquis Theatre on December 9th.

PDA is known to be a very highly charged political band.  We are handing you a soapbox. Please go on an epic rant on what’s wrong with the world.

The easiest way to think of us is as an anti-everything mindset. We are anti BOTH parties, anti-government, anti-religion, anti-corporate greed. The powers that be are the greed and lust that drive the worst parts of humankind. We are tired of seeing atrocities thrust onto us and considered the status quo. Our stage is our soapbox. We rant every time we don the mask and stand under the lights.

The new drummer, Frankie Four Fingers, obviously left an impression on you guys or he wouldn’t be the new drummer. What is it about his talent that you were drawn to the most? Have you known him for a while or did you guys only meet at the audition?

We have actually known him for a while, but it wasn’t until the interview and the following month of practices that we realized we actually knew him. We just figured he was small and easy to control. Plus, if our tour bus ever gets stranded during a snowstorm, we can make a blanket out of his body hair.

Tell us about yourself, Frankie Four Fingers. What drew you to PDA, what are your hobbies outside of music, and do you actually have four fingers? Have you all been getting along?

Of course I have four fingers, and a thumb on each hand even! One of the things that really drew me to these hairless monkeys was their approach to music: their professionalism, their no bullshit policy, and to how they go about making their business of metal.

Outside of the band I am quite partial to video games, reading, and studying the mind of a serial killer.  And we get along peachy.

With Frankie joining the band, what are you guys most excited about for future projects?  How do you feel the music will change from his input in the future?

Although our future remains FUZZY…we will not STRAY from the cause. We will continue to SHED light on both the PUBElic atrocities as well as those at the ROOT, even if the path gets HAIRY.

As pizza enthusiasts, what are your thoughts of pineapple on pizza? What is the worst pizza you’ve ever had and what’s the ultimate pizza topping combo.  Go per member if need be.

Universally, pineapple on pizza is worse than death.

Frankie Four Fingers= Pepperoni and jalapenos.

Dashing Kenny Daggers= White sauce, chicken, artichoke hearts, green peppers, garlic, onions, and moz.

James Aggression= Beer cheese and steak

Rage= Italian sausage, green peppers, white sauce.

Tommy Mayhem= Anything supreme, minus black olives.

Are you guys excited to have Dennis Shinn as a producer on your album To Live and Die in Your Suit and Tie? What will he bring to the album that wasn’t as prominent as before?

We are extremely excited for his wisdom and guidance on our album. We love how big and aggressive he has made our voice.

If Guy Fawkes was alive today do you think he would be a metalhead or something else? How do you think he would react to the world today?

We feel Guy Fawks would be into a hybrid of jazz fusion and gangsta j-pop. Although he’d bump To Live And Die In Your Suit And Tie while working out, and that’s still cool with us.

We know he’d STILL want to blow everything up, but even more now.

PDA will be performing at an upcoming charity show supporting Toys for Tots on December 9th at the Marquis Theatre in Denver. What made you guys want to get involved? Will the band be donating toys, too?

Wait… the toys aren’t for us?!

I guess we’ll have to get all these toys we’ve been accruing together to give to them. We truly feel all kids should have new toys for Christmas. It’s the one time everyone deserve some fun and joy, a reprieve from the cold.

What were your favorite toys growing up? What are your favorite toys now? How do you celebrate the holidays? Feel free to rant again if need be.

We all loved, and honestly still do, Legos. Be it Bionicles, Star Wars, or just old fashioned imagination.

“Christmas” is one of those things that having grown up in a Christian nation has been engraved into our lives. The idea used to mean something, but has now become a corporate drive for greed. Even taking a look at it from a Christian perspective, Christmas is on December 25th solely to help pagans transition from their religion into Christianity, because of convenience. Family tradition of a honeyed ham? Pagan. Mistletoe? Pagan.

I digress…

Krampus vs Santa in a fight pit.  Please do a blow by blow of the fight and who wins. And yes, reindeer can help.

Krampus. Easy. Santa is big and jolly. Krampus is known for literally carrying around chains and sticks to whip children. Even if Santa had his reindeer, Krampus still has his evil elves and Christmas traps and stuff.

What are PDA’s plans and goals for 2018? Is there anything else you would like to share?

Tour. Our main goal at this point, having our album done by Dennis “The Menace” Shinn, is to leave our mark and have our phrase running through everyone’s minds: We don’t fuck around.

Marshall Beck Resigns as Reign of Vengeance Frontman

Death Metallers, Reign of Vengeance, announce new vocalist and new EP The Final Aeon For All Humans.

Reign in Vengeance announces their new vocalist The Illuminated Man. Shrouded in mystery, The Illuminated Man will be replacing former vocalist Marshall Beck. Before stepping down Beck had this to say…

“I’d have liked to continue on with Reign of Vengeance. However, given the material of this EP it seems better that I step down as Reign of Vengeance’s frontman and hand over the responsibilities to an entity which has been fully rehabilitated by the ever expanding government and state. He seems to be better suited for this job and band now.”

Enter the Illuminated Man: He is a Master of Finance, a Master of Brutality, and a Master of Psychological Warfare upon the common populace of all humans which he (like the government) believes to be nothing more than consumers and vermin filth...

The Illuminated Man’s vocals appear on Reign of Vengeance’s upcoming EP The Final Aeon For All Humans.

“The Gift” is a new direction for Heat Of Damage. We wanted to take a heavier approach to our music after our previous release, ‘Open Fire’, and ‘The Gift’ is a perfect beginning for that. – David Haug

Heat Of Damage consists of four talented young musicians who write, produce, and perform an edgy and eclectic mix of hard rock and metal music. Their self-produced EP, Orenda, debuted in 2013.

Since then, the band has performed at numerous venues in the Northern California area. The group released their second EP, Lifestyle, in September 2014. The title track was featured on 98 Rock’s Local Licks program for three weeks running. Lifestyle’s “Apocalypse” was released soon after and earned a spot on 98 Rock’s Local Licks Most Liked Song of 2014 Countdown Show. The song came in at #2 for the year!

Following the successes of Lifestyle, the band entered the studio with Sacramento engineer and producer Matt Thomas to record their first full-length album, Open Fire, which was released in October of 2015.

Open Fire was well received following its release, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews from a wide variety of writers and music critics. The song “Heaven” was the #6 Most Liked Song of 2015 for 98 Rock’s Local Licks, despite only having two months of airplay during the year.

The group is well known for their musicality and showmanship. Shows are high-energy, engaging, and memorable. Their musical range is impressive, with an ability to provide anything from an incredible rock show to an unforgettable metal experience, for any venue’s style and crowd. Heat Of Damage never disappoints!

Dark Signal Release Lyric Video for Debut Single “Build You Back”

Sacramento based Rock/Metal Band Dark Signal are setting out to challenge expectations with their bold, debut single and lyric video, “Build You Back.” The song was produced by Drew Fulk and mixed by Taylor Larson; the video was directed/edited by guitarist Matt Thomas.

“This song is the embodiment of what our band has been through these last two years as we stepped back from our former band and brand to break the walls down that we built and create something new. This, as our first song, leads the way for Dark Signal, describing exactly how we have felt these last two years. Now we are here to build back what we once had, only better.” – Matt Thomas

Dark Signal Official | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Dark Signal is elegant, and destructive. The best of us, at the worst of times. Dark Signal is everything we wanted it to be, and nothing we imagined. In the end we’re all looking for a story, something to connect to. Dark Signal is a choice. The choice to be our true selves, and create music we connect to in the same way we connect with others.

Dark Signal, hailing from Sacramento California, comes with a new rock sound. Powerful and dynamic rock, rooted in the origins of a driving foundation. Dark Signal formed in 2017 by Sammy KarlinAnthony Grant, Matt Thomas, David Gorman, and Isaiah Adbul-Rahman. 5 members taking 10 years of writing, recording, performing and growing together to craft a refined sound in the image of their take on modern music; Dark Signal is tasteful as it is heavy, aggressive as it is beautiful. Absorbing the influence of new artists like Nothing More and Stone Sour creating a new sound for music that can translate into performance. Make no mistake this is a performing group, with a vision for the stage as strong as the studio; working to deliver an experience worthy of their fans support.
