DOPE Celebrates 20th Anniversary of debut album, ‘Felons & Revolutionaries’ with Worldwide Tour Alongside STATIC-X, DEVIL DRIVER, WEDNESDAY 13, RAVEN BLACK, & SOIL

dope Promo 20th anniversary

Industrial Metal Lifers DOPE are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their debut album, Felons & Revolutionaries with the launching of a worldwide tour alongside STATIC-X. Kicking off June 18 in Tempe, Arizona, the tour winds throughout North America, Australia, the UK, Europe, and will also include Russia and The Ukraine.

“It’s crazy to think that it has been almost 20 years since Dope’s debut album Felons & Revolutionaries was released.

I’m so grateful for the foundation that the album laid for the band and I appreciate the affinity that so many of our fans have for its raw, unpolished production..”

Felons and Revolutionaries really put Dope on the map. It catapulted us from the streets of NYC to international awareness in such a short time. We toured constantly with bands like Slipknot, Mudvayne, Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, Statind, Sevendust, POD, Kid Rock, and of course Static-X.. We also got to see our music featured in some very prominent movies and soundtracks such as The Fast & The Furious, Scream 3, and American Psycho.
– EDSEL DOPE

On Dope touring with STATIC-X, Edsel states:

“Somehow, everything has all come full circle. In the early days, Dope toured with Static-X more than any other band. We played more than 200 shows together on our debut album cycles and we all became really good friends..

So many tours, so many memories.. It’s really surreal to be dong it again 20 years later..

It’s very fitting that Dope is pairing up with Static-X again to celebrate the anniversaries of both of our debut albums..”

And in discussing the passing of friend and iconic front-man WAYNE STATIC:

“It was really sad man! Dope was part of the last North American tour that Wayne did in 2014. So I had the pleasure of touring with Wayne at the very beginning of his career and also at the very end.. I’m very grateful for those experiences, but they obviously left me feeling very sad and angry, after hearing how he passed.. Addiction is incredibly unforgiving & It doesn’t discriminate.. Even still, Wayne’s passing caught us all off guard.. It was shocking and it was sad and it was totally unnecessary..
We lost an incredibly talented friend, a funny and gentle person, who contributed so much to our scene… His voice was incredible and we all mourn his passing because we love and miss the beauty that he contributed to the world… We should also view his passing as a cautionary tale, because too many good people are leaving this earth way too early.. It’s sad and it makes me angry, because it really shouldn’t have happened at all.. I’m glad that Static-X has chosen to memorialize Wayne on this tour! I think it’s an incredibly sincere way form them to pay their respects & to represent his importance and presence within the band, while they celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip.”

For fans hoping for new music from Dope, Edsel offers:

“Dope has a ton of new music recorded for the next album.. The trouble is, I’m a self diagnosed crazy person.. I just can’t seem to put the finishing stamp on things quite yet.. I’m truly sorry! I know that it drives the fans crazy, because they want to hear what I’m working on.. Believe me, It drives me crazy too.. I just have to be in the right head space, in order to commit to the completion of the audio and visual elements that go along with it.. I’m the artist, the producer, the video director, the graphic designer, the manager, and everything else in between for Dope, so it’s allot for me to come to a peaceful place with. Deep down, there is a method to the madness and I’ll get there soon enough….

Right now, I’m just excited to hit the road and party with the Dope fans around the world and to spend time with lots of old friends.. After that, we can turn the page again and focus on completing and releasing some new Dope music.
These shows are gonna be insane!! Many of them are already sold out..

I can’t wait for it to begin!”

HELL & HOLLAR Release Official Music Video for “Showdown”

Band Photo

West Palm Beach, FL based Stoner Rock Band HELL & HOLLAR has released the official music video for “Showdown,” off of their debut EP, 442.

player

“We are so excited to release our first music video “Showdown”, from our debut EP 442 that is available now! ‘Showdown’ came into the Nashville studio with us as an unfinished idea. With the help of our great friends at Lust For Tone Studio we finished it and we did so by giving it a Nashville kick that gives the song a very southern rock vibe we really enjoy. Our director and cinematographer Cam Brooks had the great idea to do a Cool Hand Luke inspired theme which was a lot of fun to film and we really think everyone is going to enjoy watching it. We are also very excited to be heading out on our Why The Hell Not Summer Tour at the end of June. We will be making stops in Johnson City TN June 26th, Summerfest in Milwaukee WI June 28th, Raleigh, NC July 5th and more dates to be announced soon. So be sure to follow us, Hell & Hollar on all our social media channels to stay up to date. We can’t wait to see you all out there!” – HELL & HOLLAR

Despite their name, ICON FOR HIRE aren’t indebted to anyone but their fans. Since forming in 2007, the duo—singer Ariel Bloomer and guitarist Shawn Jump—have amassed a legion of followers who have connected with not only the band’s genre-bending sound, but also their honesty. That soul-baring spirit and realism is at the heart of everything Icon For Hire do, and it’s front and center on their latest Billboard-charting release, YOU CAN’T KILL US

Produced by Mike Green (Gwen Stefani, All Time Low) and funded by fans through Kickstarter on a campaign that raised $127, 200—making it one of the year’s highest-raising music campaigns—the self-released album marks a brand-new chapter for the band.

Blending hard rock, hip-hop, electronica and pop into an anthemic swirl of both melody and muscle, You Can’t Kill Us isn’t only a modern sounding record—it’s awash in lyrical themes that tap into the times as well. Addiction, depression and self-worth are all topics Ariel addresses and these themes reverberate loudly in today’s tumultuous, judgment-first culture.

After all, having survived the record label system and reemerged stronger than ever, Icon For Hire are living proof that you can take control of your life—and that’s perhaps the greatest success anyone can hope to accomplish.

Bloodywood Releases Official Music Video For “Machi Bhasad (Expect a Riot)”; “Raj Against The Machine Tour” Dates Announced

Raj Agasinst The Machine Tour

New Delhi based Indian Folk Metal band BLOODYWOOD has released the official music video for their newest single, “Machi Bhasad (Expect a Riot).”

Player

“Originally created for the upcoming Ubisoft game “Beyond Good and Evil 2“, Machi Bhasad is a track with a political message that celebrates the power of a new generation and its potential to be better than the last. Outside the context of the game, this song is intended as both a tribute and a call to action. It’s a tribute to musicians and leaders who inspired people like ourselves to think and act in a way that’ll benefit everyone. To question an unjust system that serves a few at the cost of the many. It’s a call to action for our generation to finish the work started by all those who came before us. To Become the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back, and change the world for the better.”

The follow-up cd, The King of Ruckus Rap came out in 2011 and featured Saint Dog (of Kottonmouth Kings), and four Primer 55 songs.

The DRP has toured and played with many big name acts across all genres including Soulfly (with Primer 55), Sen Dog of Cypress Hill, Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, Saint Dog and DGAF, 40 Below Summer, RA The Rugged Man, Hed(pe) and countless other acts. The DRP calls his musical style, “Ruckus Rap“. A blend of high energy, rap, metal, rock, and even a tinge of country and acoustic rock. His new single, “HeroWin” is his most personal song to date. He details his battle with heroin addiction and how he has found a better way to live.
