A Voodoo Doctor “The Doctor” came across a girl who looked lost and scared. He used his magic to turn her into a doll, but his spell was disrupted from her terrifying and taunting screams, she remained half human, half doll. As Raven lived in the dark world of the Doctor, she secretly learned his magic and conjured up a demon, Muppet, who she made her eternal protector and trapped him inside her heart. The Doctor and Muppet created Stitches to search for those who are looking to join our dark metal carnival world in the 13th hour.

Raven Black released their first single, “Died Inside,” on September 7, 2013 at the Roxy, selling out the venue that night. They continued to work in the studio and released their first EP, Midnight Dreary, in June 2014, successfully packing the house at the famous Viper Room.

The band was previously managed by Aaron Rossi (Grammy Nominated Drummer of Ministry/Prong), AJR Enterprises and worked with Grammy-Winning Producer Logan Mader (SoulFly/Machinehead/Five Finger Death Punch).

In October 2014, they revamped their line up and began working with Grammy Nominated Producer Ulrich Wild (Rob Zombie, White Zombie, Alice In Chains, Breaking Benjamin, Pantera, Seether,Dethklok, Otep, and more) on their new album. They then spent the next two years writing and then released their single, “Seven Sins,” in April 2016 and their EP, Seven Sins, in September 2016.

Raven Black played the Corona Hell and Heaven Festival July 2016 in Mexico City, Mexico with headliners like Rammstein, Twisted Sister, Ghost, Five Finger Death Punch, Mushroomhead, Selpultura, Alien Ant Farm, and many others.

To end their summer, they played the 2016 DirtFest Festival in Michigan with headliners Killswitch Engage, Asking Alexandria, Hatebreed, Attila, Born of Osiris, and many others.

Releasing their first Official EP with the new line up, Seven Sins dropped September 29, 2016 on the way out to tour with Mushroomhead, Sunflower Dead, Unsaid Fate, and Death Division for Mushroomhead’s Annual Halloween Tour.

The 2017 year started very busy for Raven Black as they headed to Cleveland, OH to film their new music video with MonoBloc’s Josh Apple and Andrew Sparks for “Twinkle Twinkle Little Scars,” premiered by Revolver Magazine on April 13, 2017. A little horror version of their already theatrical presence in the metal community. “We wanted to have some blood in this one,” says Raven.

After a quick rest, Raven Black toured through the Southern parts of the U.S. on their way to SXSW They played the Heart of Texas Rock Festival in March 2017. Winning fans from across multiple genres at SXSW. Raven says, “I am so proud of being able to share our METAL music with other fans of country, hip hop and pop genres. I was so surprised and happy to see them buying our music. It was fun and the only thing missing was the big mosh pit, LOL, although there was a small handful of metalheads represented this year at SXSW. ”

After returning back home to Los Angeles, the band quickly prepared for their first Headliner Tour, The Hex O’Clock Tour, which kicked off in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Roadhouse Voodoo Bar, July 7, 2017 and returned to the U.S. to begin their month long tour throughout the U.S. from coast to coast.

The Hex O’Clock Tour was a complete success and the band was able to visit so many new cities throughout the country, see their fans, and play so many new venues. Sharing with their fans, new stage props, a few new songs and announcing their new album, 13, in early Spring 2018.

Raven Black just finished their 6-week across the U.S. tour supporting Psychostick, Arsonists Get All the Girls, and Kissing Candice. The tour was amazing and the bands have developed life-long friends. Doesn’t always happen on tours, but it did this time.

To end the 2017 year, Raven Black just announced their pre-order of the Comic Book The Dark Metal Carnival – The Beginning – Issues 1-100. These pre order comic books will be series sequenced from 1-100 and will release in print this Spring 2018. Only these first 100 issues will be numbered for the fans that pre-order. The remaining prints after the first 100 will not be numbered.

They will be also releasing their 2nd EP Album this Spring, 13. In the studio in January and February, Raven Black will be working with Ulrich Wild, Wurm Group, once again to complete their next release this Spring 2018. Of course, this will surely mean a TOUR across the U.S. and performing the new tracks from “13”. There may also be a new music video coming this early Summer.

On tour this Spring with special guest, Hail Sagan and Aboleth May 11, 2018 through June 3, 2018 including an appearance at the Metal In the Mountains Festival in West Virginia on June 2, 2018 with headliner, Mushroomhead.

The Spring tour, “The Little Monsters Tour” will feature their new album “13” with single releases, “Monster”, “DollHouse” and “The Nobodoies” (Cover Song by Marilyn Manson”). Their new first issue/limited edition comic book, “A Dark Metal Carnival – The Beginning” and new swag for 2018.

Following their tour, expect a few fun releases of a new music video and a new announcement of their upcoming Summer Tour after they play the 2018 Michigan Metal Festival on August 11, 2018!

ENDING THEIR 2018 YEAR, RAVEN BLACK HAS BEEN ON TOUR WITH DEVILDRIVER AND JINJER THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.

IN 2019, RAVEN BLACK SIGNED WITH THE ORACLE MANAGEMENT, OWNED AND OPERATED BY DEVILDRIVER’S VERY OWN DEZ FAFARA AND AHNASTASIA FAFARA. “People find false comfort in either science or religion. The institutions have been corrupted and are used to divide the masses into two camps. It’s the perfect scam having people argue over what’s the truth. The truth is that organized religion and science are full of shit and used to deceive us and keep us fighting each other. Institutions are tools of suppression and none are better at it than the ones telling us to worship false idols and blindly believe in fake science.” — Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis

EMMA GARELL Releases Horror Tinged, Official Music Video for “Crawl”

Art

Richmond, VA based, Heavy Rock artist EMMA GARELL has released the official music video for her new single, “Crawl.” Originally premiered on DREAD CENTRAL, “Crawl” was directed by Cody Mausolf of The Liquor Portal, and is available now via The Label Group / INgrooves.

“Sometimes fears need to be faced. Often those things in life that make us uncomfortable are so dominant in our lives the only way to survive them is to become comfortable with them. ” – Emma Garell

Player

“We have an old barn on the property that we tend to stay out of until it lent itself as the perfect location for the filming of ‘Crawl.’ My vision did not stay trapped in my mind for long thanks to Cody Mausolf, filmmaker at The Liquor Portal, and choreographer and performance artist, Hank Bamberger. We arrived at the set as three clean individuals and left as a tired, sweaty filthy team. It was a pleasure facing fears with these guys and reaching outside of what is comfortable.” – EMMA GARELL

Emma Garell album promo 2019

Emma Garell grew up using her singing voice to speak for her. She lulls the listener into a sense of whispered magic, then out of nowhere, she belts with the power of the greats. Friends have called her Princess of Darkness and Roberta Plant…the truth lies somewhere in between as she takes these influences and finds her own sound. Having a wide range of vocal gifts, you won’t be surprised to hear a wide array of musical styling, all within the power of a haunting voice.

Having grown up watching Hannah Montana, with most musical experiences drawn from her parents’ speakers, Emma soon discovered that the real rock bomb came from Joan JettAlanis MorissetteThe Pretty Reckless and, at 14, to the discovery of Ozzy Osbourne as she performed for the first time in a Black Sabbath Tribute Show in front of 200 people. Describing her style as “Hard rock to soft metal, influenced by classic metal,” the identification of who she was within that rock/metal world was solidified through experiencing Them Evils and Tyler Bryant and realizing that the sounds she was creating had a vast audience.

Her latest release, “Crawl”, is only the beginning of her processing a tumultuous year as she deepens her life experiences and digs deep to find the words that can bridge the gap between the audience and herself.

Emma is backed by CJ Alicea on drums, Camden Harrahy on guitar, and DJ Sammy P. Stiles on bass.

AP-Living-Dead-3000-colour

Canadian Alternative Rock Band AUTOPILOT has released a zombie dominated music video for their single, “Living Dead (Night of the Living Dead”. Featuring footage from the classic horror film, Night of the Living Dead, “Living Dead” is off of their 2018 released Afterglow.

“Love can be terrifying. In the spirit of Halloween, director Kevin Van Witt put together his take on our track Living Dead edited to the classic movie The Night of the Living Dead.” – Marlon Harder

Player

“While still keeping this almost pop like vibe while staying in the alternative rock world, ‘Living Dead’ is one of those songs that you can almost see being performed live if you close your eyes while listening to it. It has a power and strength between it both vocally and musically that would fit a Friday night out so damn perfectly. This was a song where, while listening to it, I regretted not making it to their Minneapolis show last week. It was also the first song that had me dancing around my apartment a little bit.” Girl at the Rock Shows

Over the last few years, Canadian alternative rock band Autopilot has become a staple in the Saskatoon indie music scene. Known for their thoughtful lyrics, powerful hooks, dynamic stage show, and obsessive hard work, they somehow seem to effortlessly walk the line between passionate art and massive appeal. Over the course of 3 full-length records, and one EP, they’ve become road warriors, touring relentlessly across Canada and the US. They’ve been praised for their tireless work ethic by publications like Canadian Musician Magazine, who called them “quite possibly one of the hardest working bands in the country.”

Autopilot’s highly anticipated new record Afterglow, their most impressive and accessible record to date, produced by legendary Saskatchewan producer, S.J. Kardash, and backed by their most ambitious marketing campaign yet, finds the band reaching for bigger sounds, bigger ideas, and much bigger audiences. The release of their new single “Undisguised” following the success of preceding singles “Living Dead” and “Weightless”, is proof positive of this growing momentum.

Marlon Harder, the driving creative force behind Autopilot, has a knack for finding beauty in simple moments, and hope in the challenges life tends to bring. Inspired by the early writing of Modest Mouse, he seemed to know very quickly what he wanted to do in life. After the release and College radio buzz of their first record Now It’s Time You Know What We’re Losing For, unexpected illness struck, effectively putting the band on the back burner for the foreseeable future. But he never quit writing. Health improved, lineups changed, and in 2013 they teamed up with S.J. Kardash for the release of Diamond Rough, a sophomore full-length forged in the fires of struggle, faith, and growing maturity. The record widely expanded their media exposure across North America; in print, online, commercial rock radio, CBC, podcasts, and through licensing placement on major US television networks.

Their 2015 release, Desert Dreams, reunited the band with Kardash, and represented a significant leap forward in both the ever expanding sound, and rapidly growing fan base the band had built strongly upon with 2013’s Diamond Rough. Along with debuting on Earshot’s Top 50 chart, Desert Dreams received heavy rotation on The VergeSirius XM’s Iceberg Radio, and garnered the attention of New York’s prestigious CMJ; while securing the band showcases at Toronto’s CMW and Indie Week festivals, AYE Fest in Cincinnati, Fairfield Revival Festival in Minnesota, and opening doors to tour extensively in the United States.

Autopilot has always been a dedicated touring band. In support of Diamond RoughDesert Dreams, and the 2017 release of the single “Hurricane” / “Crooked Lines”, the band spent countless months on the road touring across Canada and the United States. These tours have included stops at Jersey Shore FestivalMillennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and a mainstage performance at Mesa Music Festival in Arizona supporting hard rock legends P.O.D. October 2018 marked the release of Afterglow, which chartered in the top 200 on the NACC North American College Charts as well as specialty radio in the US.

The future is truly wide open for Autopilot. Everything they’ve learned is on the table for 2019 while they continue to promote the release of Afterglow. They are casting their net wider, and going all in. Never content to sit still or play it safe, they’ve crafted a remarkable live show, and plan on spending as much time over the next year as possible, getting the new songs in front of as many new fans as they possibly can.

Lullwater Poster Nirvana Style 2

For more than a decade, alt rockers Lullwater have been blazing their way to the top of the industry thanks to their gritty, Southern-infused sound and straight-up, raw performances.

Formed in 2007 in Athens, GA, the foursome was born from the indelible mark that the godfathers of grunge left on music. The convergence of this inspiration, mixed with a healthy helping of swagger, defines this critically acclaimed alternative rock band.

The group released its debut, self-titled album in 2012 to solid reviews and were immediately invited to join some of the biggest tours that same year, as well as had the single “Albatross” featured on Sirius XM Octane Radio. Since that time, Lullwater has spent the majority of their career on the road sharing the stage with such A-list acts as CandleboxTheory of a DeadmanFlyleafPassafireAmarantheButcher Babies, and more. The band released their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Revival, in 2015, followed by a live EP, The Seattle Sessions, in 2017.

Voodoo, their latest effort and arguably their best work to date, was recorded at the end of 2017 in New Orleans at Marigny Studios by Swedish producer and engineer Jakob Herrmann, co-produced/engineered by Justin Davis, and mixed by Jakob Herrmann at top floor studios, is scheduled for a Winter 2018 release; this record promises an even bigger, more explosive sound that will shake you to your core.
