BEAUTY IN THE SUFFERING producer and bassist for legacy fetish/industrial act Lords Of Acid DieTrich Thrall has taken his horror approach in his bands music videos to the next step, co-producing a key scene in the newly released Clown Motel: Spirits Arise.

Released on June 4, 2019 in the United States and set for a drop date of July 29, 2019 in the UK, “Clown Motel: Spirit’s Arise” features Ari Lehman (the original Jason Voorhees from 1980 Friday the 13th), Tony Moran (the original Michael Myers from the 1978 Halloween), Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Chalet Brannan (Cyborg X, Crepitus).

Clown Motel follows a group of ghost hunters, coming from an old ghost town and a bachelorette party, returning home from Las Vegas. When the groups meet up, by mistake, they’re left to discover if the motel is really abandoned and haunted by the souls, of the clowns, that once lived there.

An exclusive performance by Beauty In The Suffering of the song “REVEILLE'”which features producer DieTrich Thrall and drummer Galen Wailing, both of the legacy industrial/fetish act Lords Of Acid, takes place during a key scene.

Writer and director Joseph Kelly weighed in on the collaboration, “DieTrich and his band brought our Las Vegas party scene from Clown Motel to life with a blistering rendition of their song ‘REVEILLE!’ Awesome energy!”

Executive Producer and Film Editor David W Bailey also chimed in, “DieTrich brought fire to the set of Clown Motel with his scorching song ‘Reveille’ that left the cast and crew speechless!”

Executive producer and co-star Don Schell, who plays the part of Chris in the film commented, “Beauty In The Suffering have already amassed a solid fan base with their initial zombie/horror themed music videos produced by mastermind DieTrich Thrall so it only made sense to have him bring his twisted talents to ‘Clown Motel!’”

Guest drummer Galen Wailing: “Having previously worked with Dietrich Thrall in Lords of Acid, I got the pleasure of working with him on his solo project Beauty in the Suffering. Always professional and a great guy to work with!”

Artist & producer DieTrich (pronounced “Dee – Trick”) Thrall is known for his extensive international touring with industrial legacy band LORDS OF ACID and MISFITS guitar legend DOYLE WOLFGANG VON FRANKENSTEIN’s solo project DOYLE. He was also a primary creative contributor to underground Marazene, who scored a hit – and the approval of rock legends NIKKI SIXX and TOMMY LEE – with their extreme cover of Motley Crüe’s “Live Wire.”

“For their first outing as a new band, Thrall and team decided to adopt a horror motif, beginning with the track ‘The Crazies (The Zombie Song),’ which is no doubt influenced by the horror classics of George A. Romero – not just the film of the same name, but his beloved Dead saga as well.
‘The Crazies’ is the first of three zombie-themed songs to be incorporated into a long-form music video conceived by Thrall (which is currently in production), and you’ll be hearing more about [the] project soon.” – Gregory Burkart (FEARnet.com)

“Beauty In The Suffering is an evolving concept I came up with years ago that best described a sense of optimism during some bright spots of an otherwise massive struggle against overwhelming odds.

Music I have been writing and expressing over the last several years has been uniquely intimate in reflecting those struggles and I am very excited about putting out some fresh ideas that represent the here and now.

Beauty In The Suffering deals with universal themes of love and loss, defeat and resolve, and struggle and triumph.

Everybody has moments where the road looks impossible to pass. But somehow, little by little we manage through our own inner strength and the purposeful placement of fate, chance, and karma. We emerge wiser and with a deeper understanding of ourselves and of our place in the world and – The Beauty We Glean From The Suffering We Have Endured Can NEVER Be Denied..

This is a journey I accepted long ago. I wear the scars of my personal triumph over my struggles with pride and I stand ready to face new challenges.

And, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, this is a new beginning. I thank you all for standing by my side during some very difficult years of active-inactivity. The future is wide open and full of nothing but payoff.” ~DieTrich Thrall 11.18.12

“[Beauty In The Suffering’s debut zombie themed music video ‘The Crazies’ is] ..A visual mini-epic.. Chilling!” – Gregory Burkart (FEARnet.com)

“Beauty in the Suffering’s debut song ‘The Crazies (The Zombie Song)’ is a thunderous assault amidst apocalyptic party lyrics!” – COMA Music Magazine

“[Beauty In The Suffering is a] charging electro soaked metal project that evokes the likes of Deathstars and Motionless In White with its thick and filthy tone.” – Necromag.co.uk

“Brilliant!” – Melissa Themeli (Our City Radio – Minneapolis)

Advance Praise for In The House Of Strange Affairs

“With a sheer multitude of musical styles and socialistic genres seamlessly meshing into a sordid melting pot of creative debauchery, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult retains the flag of anarchy among the masses with a ‘fuck you’ style and a ‘watch this’ smirk. Drenched in kitsch and soaked in gasoline, ‘In The House of Strange Affairs’ will become a looped playlist of hypnotic decadence in whatever listening receptical you choose.” – Jammerzine

“As far as a review goes, there’s not much I can say that could sell this record any more than it will already sell itself, T.K.K fans are practically addicts for this stuff. If the band emerged in 70’s New York in the cinematic world they’re so dearly devoted to they’d be on Travis Bickle’s hit-list for sure and would revel in in the fact of being so too. As uncompromising as they are unsavoury, T.K.K will always thrive in their very own house of strange affairs.” – Happy Metal Geek

“Eclectic, yet sonically appealing,by track two,the record has laid it’s landscape down, and has invited the listener in.With beats from the Land of Rhythm and Blues.raunchy vocals courtesy of lead singer Groovie Mann, and spoken-word overlays, the album is a strange affair all it’s own. Spotlight Tracks include “Gold To Grey”,the album opener,”Strange Affairs”,and the first song released from the album,”Year of the Klown“,which first saw release last year as part of a Sleazebox Records Sampler.” – Rock And Roll Infinity

“Per usual, TKK has outdone itself with originality. This phenomenal album is one that dreams are made of, a little dirty and a lot of good. The groove on this album is reminiscent of the new wave style of the eighties, and lets face it, it’s awesome. The sexual innuendos are noticeable. It is a sexy album, it is a good album, and it will get anyone in the mood for fun.” – Rock Documented

New Promo

Hailing from Chicago’s renowned Wax Trax! Records stable of recording artists, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT have been conjuring up sonic tales of sex, blasphemy and kitschy horror since 1987. Along with label mates such as Front 242KMFDM and Ministry, TKK (as often abbreviated), helped develop the industrial music genre, but they themselves continued to evolve, creating one of the most diverse repertoires in modern day music. Their sound can be described as electronic rock, heavily influenced by both disco and funk. One of their most distinctive characteristics is the use of spoken-word samples lifted from B-movies laced throughout their songs. Since debuting, they have released 13 studio albums, and their music has been featured in a variety of films, television/cable shows and soundtracks, all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.

Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night burritos while watching foreign horror movies on VHS rented from the corner store, began conspiring to make a trashy B movie (in the style of Russ Meyer and John Waters) to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the film itself never came to fruition, they also wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at Wax Trax! Records in Chicago, and when the label heard the tracks, they were intrigued and eager to release it.

The duo took the title of the film as the name for their band, and decided to focus on the musical group full time. Taking the stage names Groovie Mann(Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), they worked on creating an occult-biker meets disco-rock influence look for the project, which included a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers and dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult ”. This attracted the attention of indie fans and the ire of religious groups in practically equal measure. They released their first album I See Good Spirits And I See Bad Spirits in 1988 followed up by the hard-hitting dance floor classics “Kooler Than Jesus” and “A Girl Doesn’t Get Killed By A Make-Believe Lover Cuz It’s Hot,” which featured no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. By the time they released their second album, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.

In 1991, the band embarked on the decadent “Sexplosion! Tour”, titled after their third album. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”. The tour was a success and the record sold so well that they signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards, and the single “Sex On Wheelz” became a sizeable radio hit.

Hollywood also embraced the group, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect of their sound. The band’s music has appeared in a slew of films and tv/cable shows including, director Ralph Bakshi’s “Cool World”, Paul Verhoven’ssaucy “Showgirls”, MTV’s “Beavis And Butthead“, and the cult film classic “The Crow”, in which the ensemble make a cameo appearance performing their song “After The Flesh”. More recently the KULT was written into the story line of the 2014 film “Sexy Evil Genius” starring Seth Green.

THRILL KILL KULT continue to release new material via their own SleazeBox Records label (sleazebox.com) and tour extensively with a rotating cast of musicians and dubious characters, however the core of the project has always been Nardiello and Daley, both on record and in the live act. Their performances sizzle with sleaze and infectious grooves, as Melody Maker once described, “A red hot cabaret from Hell”.

They begin their 4th decade this year with the release of a new album, In The House Of Strange Affairs on February 14th, and a North American tour commencing May 5th in Las Vegas. The current line-up is Groovie Mann (vocals), Buzz McCoy (keys), Mimi Star (bass), Justin Thyme (drums), Arena Rock (Bomb Gang Girl).

Both as a band and as individuals, Awake At Last continue to stand for positivity, spirituality, self-help and making an impact every single day. Returning with their debut full-length release, The Change, they have never sounded more confident, more energized, or been more determined to reach out to those who might be struggling in the world. The Change releases June 21st via Outerloop Records. “We pushed ourselves to our limits as songwriters,” states guitarist Imran Xhelili. “There is more variety on this record and there are songs that lean in a heavier rock/metal direction with other songs being a lot lighter and more dynamic. All of the choruses on this album have huge hooks, and there are more sections that are less guitar heavy and carried by different elements, like pianos and orchestral instruments.

The lyrics are also more direct in how they carry across the messages we have always had at the forefront of our music.” While making waves with their previous output, this combination is the sound of a band who have truly come into their own. From front to back, every song carries a message of hope. Having commenced writing for it even before the release of their Life/Death/Rebirth EP in 2016, the finished result is not something that came easily. “We all had demons we had to battle mentally and physically,” explains vocalist Vincent Torres. “You wouldn’t believe the pressure that comes down on you when you begin the process for a full length record. After we pushed through the turmoil and embraced the wonderful things that came as a reward it became pretty clear that what we had made should be called The Change. I think this is a perfect name, because it represents the spiritual evolution that we all went through.”

Having achieved a lot in 2018, including a stint on the final run of the Warped Tour – commencing the day after they finished tracking The Change – appearing on the iMatter Festival alongside Underoath and August Burns Red and opening for Asking Alexandria in Louisville, Kentucky, the band are striding into the fifth year of their existence on a high. The first taste of the record is single “Dead Generation”, which stands as a wake-up call, urging everyone who hears it to stand up and speak with their own voice, rather than becoming part of said dead generation. This perfectly represents both the band – rounded out by guitarist Eric Blackway, bassist/vocalist Tyler Greene and drummer Jon Finney – and their core message, continuing to place their fans first, and wanting to do all that they can to help improve their quality of life. “I want people to understand the symbiotic relationship between a band and its fanbase and I want them to feel like they’re along for the ride with us,” Torres states. “We are a band that is built on the foundation of endurance and perseverance, and nothing we’ve accomplished has been easily accessed. I want our fans to know that the reason we are able to live this dream is because they continue to support us and allow us to do so, but most of all I want them to understand that whatever it is that nurtures their soul can also be obtainable if they strive for it and believe in themselves.” Xhelili expounds on this, noting “As individuals, it can feel hard at times to find our own identity and our individual greater purpose. It all may feel rather heavy and bog us down constantly. However, we are here to take a stand and try to rise above all of that and be a respite for all of the darkness around us, as a shining light.” The casual listener also might be unaware of the interconnectedness of Awake At Last’s releases, with Torres explaining that there’s a deep-rooted storyline following a character on their journey through multiple lives. The Change in fact serves as a direct sequel to Life/Death/Rebirth. “The being who experienced the afterlife in Life/Death/Rebirth is reborn into a new vessel in The Change, but in order to interrupt the endless cycle of life and death they’ve been going through they attempt to imbue their new vessel with all of their cellular knowledge. They believed that by doing this the vessel in The Change could bring about a great revolution in the world and finally end the process so the soul may finally rest. What happens next is yet to be determined.”

The album was produced by Kile Odell of Failure Anthem and Josh Landryin Greensboro, NC, the energy and the dynamic of the team essential to shaping the record into its finished product. With Xhelili admitting the pressure of making a full-length was nerve-wracking, he also claims that this nervous energy helped them nail it down. “We all were striving and yearning for this to be the biggest and best album it could be and we all walked away very proud and satisfied with the end result.” For Torres, the process was not an easy one, the sessions taking a toll on him, having his lyrics chopped and changed by the production team after extensive demoing not something that immediately sat well with him. “It was hard fought but after all was said and done I’d learned so much about taking many words and turning them into poetry, and I believe the sessions made me a much better musician and songwriter. After some push and pull I think the compromises made created the perfect record and I think you can feel some of that struggle in the music, but also feel how to get through it.”The Change also marks the band’s transition from a fully independent band to one partnered up with Outerloop Records, which is a landmark event in their story. This partnership has allowed the band to make the album they want, and having the backing of a label will allow them to spread their music far further than they could with previous releases. “They believed in the vision we were striving for and we signed with them for this record to see the vision come to life,” explains Torres. “It is a bit of an adaptation process when you go from being completely DIY and independent to having a team behind you, but overall it’s really cool to be able to bounce ideas off of multiple sources and work with some amazing people who want the same thing that we do.”

As they continue to build momentum, the quintet’s ambitions remain true to their original aspirations: wanting to establish an even stronger connection to their fanbase. “I want to create a movement where individuals from all walks of life can come together and support one another as we continue to evolve and make changes in order to pursue fulfilling lives,” states Torres. Given the demons that had to be battled and overcome to reach this point it’s unsurprising how eager they are for people to hear what they have achieved. “This is the moment we’ve spent years working towards and these are by far the strongest Awake At Last songs we have written,” says Xhelili. “I feel proud of every single song that made the record and there is no filler. This is an album the fans can listen front to back and be immersed in the underlying concept and themes that tie it all together.”

Adema is a post-grunge, alternative metal band with heavy electronica influence who began their musical adventure together in 1998 in Bakersfield and as their original lineup of Dave DeRooKris KohlsMike RansomTim Fluckey, and Mark Chavez released full-length albums AdemaUnstable, and EP Insomniac’s Dream. During this time they found themselves sharing the stage alongside of some of rock’s biggest acts at the time: Linkin ParkOzzy OsbourneGodsmackStone Temple PilotsRob ZombieSystem of a Down, and Korn, just to name a few.

After Unstable, the band found itself facing major roadblocks in their future. The most impactful being the departure of two founding members, lead vocalist Mark Chavez and guitarist Mike Ransom. Remaining members Tim, Dave, and Kris showed exceptional resilience through the years, managing to secure a second record deal with Earache Records, continuing to tour, and releasing full-length records Planets and Kill the Headlights, followed by EP Topple the Giants. Refusing to let down the fans after the departure of Chavez, they first played and recorded with vocalist Luke Caraccioliand then Bobby Reeves, with guitarist Tim Fluckey eventually taking up the vocal duties of the band.

After years of perseverance, 2010 brought us their first reunion as the original 5 members. Chavez left the group, and then again in 2017 they got back together until Chavez refused several tour offers, finally making it known to the group he no longer had interest in singing Adema songs, touring, or recording. All hope seemed to be lost. The original singer was no longer an option and only someone AMAZING would be good enough to fill the vacuum left behind. That’s when Kris Kohls called long-time friend of the band, Ryan Shuck (Orgy, Julien-K, Dead By Sunrise), and the beginning of a new era begun. Sharing Adema’s love for electronica-infused rock, this merger is bringing about a new commitment to Adema’s roots. Being able to front both his band, Julien-K, and Adema would not have been possible without the full support of both bands, both of which enjoy history and friendship together that has spanned several years. With a major tour announced for the Fall of 2019, it wouldn’t be too hard to imagine that there will be some amazing new music coming in the near future as well. Stay tuned!

DOPE Celebrates 20th Anniversary of debut album, ‘Felons & Revolutionaries’ with Worldwide Tour Alongside STATIC-X, DEVIL DRIVER, WEDNESDAY 13, RAVEN BLACK, & SOIL

dope Promo 20th anniversary

Industrial Metal Lifers DOPE are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their debut album, Felons & Revolutionaries with the launching of a worldwide tour alongside STATIC-X. Kicking off June 18 in Tempe, Arizona, the tour winds throughout North America, Australia, the UK, Europe, and will also include Russia and The Ukraine.

“It’s crazy to think that it has been almost 20 years since Dope’s debut album Felons & Revolutionaries was released.

I’m so grateful for the foundation that the album laid for the band and I appreciate the affinity that so many of our fans have for its raw, unpolished production..”

Felons and Revolutionaries really put Dope on the map. It catapulted us from the streets of NYC to international awareness in such a short time. We toured constantly with bands like Slipknot, Mudvayne, Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, Statind, Sevendust, POD, Kid Rock, and of course Static-X.. We also got to see our music featured in some very prominent movies and soundtracks such as The Fast & The Furious, Scream 3, and American Psycho.
– EDSEL DOPE

On Dope touring with STATIC-X, Edsel states:

“Somehow, everything has all come full circle. In the early days, Dope toured with Static-X more than any other band. We played more than 200 shows together on our debut album cycles and we all became really good friends..

So many tours, so many memories.. It’s really surreal to be dong it again 20 years later..

It’s very fitting that Dope is pairing up with Static-X again to celebrate the anniversaries of both of our debut albums..”

And in discussing the passing of friend and iconic front-man WAYNE STATIC:

“It was really sad man! Dope was part of the last North American tour that Wayne did in 2014. So I had the pleasure of touring with Wayne at the very beginning of his career and also at the very end.. I’m very grateful for those experiences, but they obviously left me feeling very sad and angry, after hearing how he passed.. Addiction is incredibly unforgiving & It doesn’t discriminate.. Even still, Wayne’s passing caught us all off guard.. It was shocking and it was sad and it was totally unnecessary..
We lost an incredibly talented friend, a funny and gentle person, who contributed so much to our scene… His voice was incredible and we all mourn his passing because we love and miss the beauty that he contributed to the world… We should also view his passing as a cautionary tale, because too many good people are leaving this earth way too early.. It’s sad and it makes me angry, because it really shouldn’t have happened at all.. I’m glad that Static-X has chosen to memorialize Wayne on this tour! I think it’s an incredibly sincere way form them to pay their respects & to represent his importance and presence within the band, while they celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip.”

For fans hoping for new music from Dope, Edsel offers:

“Dope has a ton of new music recorded for the next album.. The trouble is, I’m a self diagnosed crazy person.. I just can’t seem to put the finishing stamp on things quite yet.. I’m truly sorry! I know that it drives the fans crazy, because they want to hear what I’m working on.. Believe me, It drives me crazy too.. I just have to be in the right head space, in order to commit to the completion of the audio and visual elements that go along with it.. I’m the artist, the producer, the video director, the graphic designer, the manager, and everything else in between for Dope, so it’s allot for me to come to a peaceful place with. Deep down, there is a method to the madness and I’ll get there soon enough….

Right now, I’m just excited to hit the road and party with the Dope fans around the world and to spend time with lots of old friends.. After that, we can turn the page again and focus on completing and releasing some new Dope music.
These shows are gonna be insane!! Many of them are already sold out..

I can’t wait for it to begin!”
