Deepfall drops their latest album, Broken, via Pavement Entertainment. Broken is available on CD through Pavement’s Online Store and on streaming platforms everywhere.

Rich Hopkins, the vocalist of Deepfall, says on Broken, “My favorite song performance wise from the new album would have to be ‘Ghost.’ It’s a fairly deep song for me, and playing it on stage is a bit of a rollercoaster ride.” He also appreciates seeing the different reactions fans have to Deepfall’s music. “Everyone who listens to our music can incorporate their own circumstances to each song. It’s amazing to see what our fans take away from it.”

Deepfall conjures an enveloping storm of carefully crafted hard rock that strikes the soul with stinging honesty. Masterfully capturing thematic darkness, the band leaves a sonic trail of scorched post-apocalyptic earth behind its musical machine, blazing a path through the heaviness of life with an equally heavy response.

GEARS Teams with LIVING COLOUR Front-Man COREY GLOVER to Re-Imagine Iconic “Cult of Personality”

GEARS Cult Cover Art w FT

Miami, FL hard rock band GEARS has joined forces with legendary LIVING COLOUR vocalist and front-man COREY GLOVER for a modern update to the 1988 hit single, “Cult of Personality.” Originally premiered on REVOLVER, “Cult of Personality” was recorded in Recorded at Wombat Studios in New Jersey and Jettlane Studios in Kentucky, Mixed by Corey Lowery and Mastered by Paul Logus, with the video being filmed and directed by Estil Robinson.

Player

“‘Cult of Personality’ is a song that we always wanted to cover. That groove, that riff, the vocals, lyrical content … Everything about it has always stuck out to us and been a personal favorite. To have the opportunity to not only record a song that is important to us, but to have Corey Glover himself come in and perform on that track, it was truly a special moment. He was so easy and fun to work with and the final product is really something that we are extremely proud of” – JIMMY WOOTEN

Gears Promo Final Edits 55 1 of 1

Miami based hard/heavy rock act GEARS isn’t your average start-up garage band. Despite being confronted with a near disastrous setback at the cusp of their debut, headlining tour, jarring line-up changes, and financial challenges, the band has persevered and rebuilt.

Founded in February 2014, Trip 6 (Urban Rebel), Eli Parker (Endo), Tommy Herres (SCARLET CARSON) and Jimmy Wooten (SKINMASK) were all looking for new projects as their old ones had run their course.

We all wanted to do something more modern, but still rang true to our influences. Something that we could aggressively market and tour on. So, we all met up in Miami after months of talking about doing something together and what came out was the first EP, “Set in Motion.”

They released Set in Motion in May 2014, immediately launching into their first headline run with support from I-Exist. Just three days into the tour, their equipment trailer disconnected, resulting in a massive, horrific accident; not only did they lose their gear, but the tour van was totaled and the band members sustained serious injury. In spite of this tremendous blow, the group endured and continued the tour without missing a beat.

Later it developed that two of the founding members were unable to continue, leaving the band reeling and having to replace them with skilled, compatible substitutes:

“I was talking with a mutual friend, Joe Taback (12 Gauge Embrace) about needing a guitar player for GEARS because we let go of Eli and he suggested Bobby Thomas. I called him and showed him the songs and he was ready to go. As far as bass, I knew Chris from when Needlemouth was a thing out in Cali and I always liked his playing and he was super laid back & cool. I knew both of these dudes were definite upgrades at their instruments and were a better fit personality wise than what we had to deal with previously.”

In June 2015, Wooten and Six teamed with Corey Lowery (Saint AsoniaStuck MojoStereomudDark New Day) and Troy Mclawhorn (EvanescenceSeetherDark New Day) on their new EP Pride Comes Before the Fall, and announced the addition of new members Bobby Thomas and Chris Dorame. They hit the road for their Riser Tour, once again with I-Exist, in July, wrapping up the run in September, but kept the momentum going with the digital release and lyric video for their debut single off of Pride Comes Before the Fall, “Face Down”. The band rounded out the year with the release of their much anticipated sophomore EP on November 10th, with both headlining tours and a support slot with Trapt slated for 2017.

After a very successful tour in 2017 with Seasons After and Bridge to Grace, GEARS has released a new single and video for “KING.” Once again, joined by Corey Lowery in the studio, GEARS continues to evolve. Boasting an even heavier sound with groove and aggression, they set out for Headlining Dates as well as Support Slots with NonpointUpon a Burning Body and will round out their 2018 Summer/Fall Tour Dates with the last of 3 legs with All That Remains concluding at the end of September.

After touring much of 2018 with All That Remains, GEARS has shifted focus to releasing more music. Their first 2019 offering will be “TANGO YANKEE’ which features LAJON WITHERSPOON of SEVENDUST.

GEARS is currently in the studio with Corey Lowery working on some more new music and will have upcoming tour dates to announce for 2020 soon.

We’re still moving forward and, despite everything that has been an obstacle in the short time we’ve been a band, everything still keeps growing and getting better.

Austin, TX based Rock Band BLACK HEART SAINTS has released the official music video for “Crazy,” the second single off of their newest EP, Misery. “Crazy” picks up where the last single, “Lines,” left off: we’ve seen the band get lost in the Texas Hill Country, and now, in this second part of the story, the guys encounter a strange recording studio with an even stranger producer. Watch as mayhem unfolds during the recording process.

The music video, directed by Static Heart Productions, features the acting of Omar Vallejo (bassist for Sony Music band Vallejo), who is actually the band’s real-life producer.

” ‘Crazy’ has sort of a modern rock meets Mötley Crüe vibe. The video was inspired by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and things get really weird when an unexpected acid trip interferes with the recording process. Every video in this film series seems to get better and better, and we are excited to share with our fans. ” – BLACK HEART SAINTS

COYOTE KID Announce Release of ‘Skeleton Man’

CK album poster digital

Minnesota based, cinematic rock band COYOTE KID has announced the release of their hotly anticipated concept album, Skeleton Man. Funded in large part through fan support via a highly successful Kickstarter campaign, Skeleton Man introduces fans to the dark world first revealed in the debut single, “Femme Fatale.”

Promo Player

“The Skeleton Man has been a passion project for us for the last two years. We wanted to build an action/adventure story with high stakes, but that still has universally relatable themes and ideas. Musically we wanted to write a coherent record without any confines to our genre, or the styles we’ve made in the past. We just wanted to be free to take our sound in any direction we wanted, and to try and build an album that will have something for everybody. We also wrote recurring motifs throughout the album that reflect the character’s growth as they change. Trying to make the album feel smooth and coherent, while still leaving the listener in a totally different place then where the album starts.” – Austin Durry – Vocals

IMG 5191

The band has also revealed the second part of their Femme Fatale film series, the official music video for their single “Strange Days.” Continuing the bizarre death dream of the Drifter character from their previously released short film music video for “Femme Fatale,” “Strange Days” was directed by Christopher Behnen.

Strange Days player

“Growing up my mother told stories of her schizophrenic father (my biological grandfather) – stories of sudden outbursts of unstable rage, that all culminated in a kidnapping and hostage situation, 20 years in prison, and eventually his suicide. I only met him once as a young child, but I’ve always had a lingering fear that I could have the same mental illness in me. I think that fear played a heavy role in inspiring this song. We wanted ‘Strange Days’ to feel like a steady descent into madness. The first verse starts off with a steady jam, but with an unseen, underlying darkness, until the stability unravels into the hard-hitting chorus. The second verse returns to stability, but now with a suspicious twist, until the second chorus hits and takes off into complete mayhem, suddenly snapping down into the creeping darkness of the bridge. We incorporated lots of weird sounds into the bridge: like rustling chains; heavy, metallic breathing through the trombone; and scraping the tops of cymbals; this all around the growing instability of one guitar string slowly being bent up and down. Eventually this leads to a short-lived breath of relief, until the final chorus steps in, now fully unhinged”, – Austin Durry

Coyote Kid will also be hosting a real life treasure hunt to find “The Golden Skull of the Skeleton Man”.

To find the coordinates you’ll have to decipher the secret code hidden in the album. As soon as the album drops the hunt is on.”

Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Minneapolis based Coyote Kid’s sound. Precise yet primitive jungle drums set the stage for the eclectic and powerful ensemble to sweep you away into their haunting world. Like oil and water, Durry’s true grit voice alongside Cassandra’s crystal clarity form a stirring, yet beautiful contrast. All being thrusted foreword by shimmering spaghetti-western guitars, growling base, and soaring brass. Their lyrics paint a thrilling picture of monsters and ghosts, murderers and thieves, love and guilt, and everything in between. Previously known as Marah in the Mainsail, Coyote Kid has been earning their stripes and touring the US and Canada since 2015, slowly carving their unique place between genres in the music industry.

STATIC-X Releases Video Teaser for New Song, “HOLLOW” & Announce Official Release Date with Updated Details for Long Awaited, 7th Studio Album, ‘PROJECT REGENERATION’

Hollow Promo Final

STATIC-X has released a video teaser for their new song, “HOLLOW,” off of their highly anticipated 7th studio album, PROJECT REGENERATION. The album is scheduled to release May 29, 2020 with all pre-ordered merchandise associated with the new album to begin shipping October 15th.

Player

Originally scheduled for release in Spring of 2019, the new STATIC-X album, PROJECT REGENERATION was first intended to feature several guests vocalists, along with the original Wisconsin Death Trip band line up of Tony CamposKen Jay, and Koichi Fukuda.

During the recording sessions for PROJECT REGENERATION, one of the bands producers uncovered several additional unreleased / unfinished STATIC-X tracks, many of which contained isolated vocal performances by Wayne Static.

Because of this incredible find, the new STATIC-X album will now feature lead vocals by Wayne Static on virtually every song.

“It was very surreal” says Tony Campos. “Our producer was going through all of these old studio tapes, many of which were damaged. He called me up and told me that I needed to get down to the studio right away and listen to what he found.. I jumped in my car and raced to the studio and what he shared, fucking blew me away.. It was Wayne singing on track after track, but there was little to no music on any of it.. Most of the tapes were damaged and Waynes voice was virtually all that remained in tact.”

“It was just crazy!!” adds drummer Ken Jay. “There we were.. Myself, Tony and Koichi, back in the studio together, after all these years, and somehow the universe decided to surprise us with all of these lost STATIC-X tapes containing Waynes voice. I just couldn’t help thinking that this was all somehow meant to be. I couldn’t stop thinking about how happy this was going to make Waynes family, and all of the STATIC-X fans around the world.”

While this comes as amazing news for the fans, completing these additional tracks has created a lot of additional work for the band and their producers.

Due to the busy touring schedule associated with the 20th Anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip, the band had no choice but to delay the album’s release.

“The official release date for PROJECT REGENERATION is now May 29, 2020.” Says Tony Campos “In the mean time, we have decided to go ahead and ship out ALL of the merchandise and schwag associated with the pre-orders to all the fans who have participated. This way they can have all of their shirts, hoodies, posters, etc, while we all wait a little bit longer for the music to be complete.. As originally planned, the Cd’s will ship to everyone the week prior to release..”

In addition, we are finally able to begin sharing some of the finished music from PROJECT REGENERATION” adds Campos. “There is a lot of great stuff on the way, but right now we are going to share a video clip for one of the newly finished songs called ‘HOLLOW.’ This song was originally a demo from the Start A War album, which was never completed.
“Wayne and I never felt like the music on the original demo was fully realized”. adds Tony. “The vocals sounded great, but some of the musical compositions from that time period felt a bit experimental. There is a reason that some of these tracks never made it on a previous STATIC-X album, and it certainly wasn’t because of Wayne’s vocals. The band was just going through a lot of changes at that time and, in retrospect, it felt like we were straying away from that authentic STATIC-X sound that had really defined us.”

Ken Jay adds, “When we began working on PROJECT REGENERATION our producers advised us to ignore all of the old demo music.. We opted for the original band to re-enter the studio with nothing more than Wayne’s vocal tracks.. The vocals sound really great and I think that Wayne would be really happy with what we’ve done with the music and to hear that these tracks have finally realized their full potential..”

“The 20th Anniversary for Wisconsin Death Trip only comes once in a life time.” Says original guitarist Koichi Fukuda “and this year has been absolutely incredible. The new album is going to be very special and this whole 20th Anniversary touring process has been a very unique and healing experience for the band and also for the fans.”

“We are so grateful to the fans who have made 2019 such an incredible year for STATIC-X!” adds Ken Jay. “We have toured the world and celebrated the life and work of our dear friend Wayne, while playing our debut album front to back every night.. The fans have really exceeded our expectations and again, we are just so grateful!”

“Now that the touring for 2019 is coming to an end, we have revised our schedule and we are excited to finish the album so that we can get it into the hands of the fans asap,” states Campos. “I promise that it will be worth the wait!”
