Not knowing who you want to be is a normal part of growing up. Sometimes you have to search again and again to find your voice and who you are. Most importantly, being confident enough at a young age to keep pushing yourself and having the drive to succeed and work hard is why Jaclyn Kenyon is poised to make a real impact in Music.

With influence from such legends as Shania TwainCarrie UnderwoodMichael Jackson, and excited about such newer young female artists like Maren MorrisKelsea BalleriniCarly Pearce, “A little Rock n’ Roll and A LOT Country” is what you can see and feel just by meeting this 20 year old Ontario native, who has been going back and forth to Nashville since she was a teenager.

Always a strong performer, Jaclyn has been on the stage since the age of 12, when she was the youngest performer ever in Canada’s all female artist showcase Honey Jam, competing against artists twice her age. This prestigious showcase, Canada’s largest and best known, had launched the careers of Nelly Furtado and Jully Black.

At 15 years old Jaclyn caught the eye of world renowned vocal coach and multi-platinum producer “Mama” Jan Smith who immediately saw her raw talent. “Jaclyn, as a writer, I believe she can write for anybody,” Mama Jan said of Jaclyn, “Stylistically, she really doesn’t have a lot of limits, which is awesome.”

After that Jaclyn was fortunate enough to learn more about herself as an artist with multi-platinum writers and producers in Nashville and Los Angeles where she spent time trying to find what inspires her

“People have always had me try and sing different styles, whether it was Country, Rock or Pop. I’ve always went along and tried every idea to find my voice. I’ve even had producers make me sing ‘hard rock’ “, says Jaclyn recanting some of the musical adventures she went through as a teenager, “One producer kept telling me to lose my ‘country twang’ in my voice and I didn’t realize that was just a natural part of me.

Jaclyn’s first single off her upcoming EP, “Daddy’s Got A Shotgun,” was Produced by Mike Krompass and co-written with Nashville luminaries Clay Mills and Steve Diamond.

In addition, Jaclyn has been writing in Nashville with Producer Mike Krompass, and writers Robbie NevilRich Redmond.

Said of her brand new song ‘Daddy’s Got A Shotgun’ ,”This is a cute fun song I wrote about an overprotective father, …no matter how old you are you’re always gonna be your daddy’s little girl, right?

Jaclyn is getting ready for what’s next, “With the great fans I’ve been building, I’ll be able to play live more often than I thought” Said an excited Jaclyn “ I’ll let you know when I play next. Please keep listening and sharing my music”

WE GAVE IT HELL Release Debut LP, ‘Labyrinth’

Las Vegas based Metal band WE GAVE IT HELL has released their debut LP, Labyrinth with music videos for the singles “Mapmaker” and “Prayer.”

“‘Mapmaker’ is that song that summarizes and the concept of the album LABYRINTH. It’s about individual struggle. It’s about depression or anxiety at any level. It’s about self-torment and being stuck in one’s head even when one seems to be absolutely fine. The music was written in such a way that carries a somewhat “happy” feeling during the verses then transitions into a “dark” and/or “sad” feeling. The lyrics were carefully chosen to keep the listener understanding and empathizing with the song. We were very stoked and pleased when the pre-production of this song was done and couldn’t wait to release it. The video illustrates what we’ve meticulously worked on for this song.” – We Gave It Hell

That right we’re making it great again like back in the 70’s before the Clean Water Act… So we felt it fitting to share “That 70’s Song” with our constituents and the fine folks who listen to NPR ‘Find your forgiving nature, they will surely kill us all but, baby it’s alright’.” Karabas Barabas

Echo Black Release Official Music Video for “Dawn”

New York based Dance Rock Band Echo Black has released the official music video for their single, “Dawn.” Directed by Chris Newhard, “Dawn” showcases the band’s vibrant, debut album of the same name.

“DAWN is very near and dear to our hearts for several reasons. The first and most obvious: it is our first album effort and we are extremely proud of the product we have created together. Secondly, this album was completely funded by our fans via Indiegogo; a fact that continues to humble us everyday. DAWN is introspective. It is theatrical, it is angry, it is mournful, it is joyous, and it is rebellious. We do our best to take into account all of our musical tastes when we write; DAWN is our coming of age story and is, justifiably, chock full of emotions, varied genres, and passion. We hope you love it as much as we do!” – Echo Black

Precious Child Releases Surreal, NSFW “WHOLE” Music Video!

Experimental video and musical artist Precious Child has released a provocative, NSFW new music video debuting their new release “WHOLE.” Created in collaboration with transmasculine multimedia digital artist/director Cade, and premiered on Paper Magazine, the video explores body horror, dysmorphia and abstraction of gender and identity in Precious’ vivid visual style.

“I directed ‘WHOLE’ at a time when I was at the cusp of reinventing my gender identity, both socially and biologically,” Cade shares. “In the video we allude to swapping bodies in a sci-fi scenario. We explore the controversial notion of ‘borrowing women’s struggle’ in a scene where blood travels from my vein through a tube and into Precious’ crotch, creating a simulated period. The experience itself was a ritual, as we both bled.”

Precious Child adds, “I think individuals should decide what they like and what they want to do with their body, accoutrements, lifestyle, and persona without regard to convention. The various symbols and signifiers are arbitrary.”

With the release of this new video, Precious Child announced they will release a new body of work WHOLE this spring. The album expands on the concepts explored in “My Little Problem (Violet Door)” and visual mini-album released last fall, Just A Body. In addition to the upcoming release, they are working on further new music with multiplatinum producer Ulrich Wild (SlipknotStone Temple PilotsWhite ZombieDeftones) and members of Filter and Puscifer.

Bloody, arresting, and surreal, Precious Child exists at the convergence of conceptual art and experimental music. The Los Angeles-based artist culls sonic inspiration from mainstream pop, industrial and metal to create confrontational and captivating audiovisual work. Precious Child’s 2017 album TRAPPED marked the beginning of the artist’s close collaboration with Cade, whose work explores the worlds of fetish, gender deconstruction and post-internet intimacy. Their first collaborative release was the video for “My Little Problem (Violet Door)“, which premiered via Paste Magazine, along with “Phantom”, an experiential audiovisual artist’s statement for TRAPPED. The videos have garnered a combined 1.65 million views across social platforms.

Prior to TRAPPED, Precious Child released full lengths Bloody Knees (2015), accompanied by a music video for “I Fall” featuring America’s Next Top Model alumni Nina Burns, and ESCAPE (2016), a soundtrack composed for the Neil Gaiman biopic “Dream Dangerously.” With the release of ESCAPE, Precious Child collaborated with Alabama artist Yonderpuss on video work accompanying the songs “Magic is Real” and “To Need”.

Gender accessories as seen in ‘WHOLE’ can be found here.

GEARS Release Official Music Video for “King”

Miami, FL hard rock band GEARS has released the Official Music Video for their track, “King,” the first single off of their upcoming EP.

“Society has become so soft and forgiving, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes you can’t just live and let live. Sometimes you have to confront those that stand between you and what you want to achieve. It’s not always pretty, and it’s not always peaceful, but not everything can be resolved using our inside voices.” – Jimmy Wooten

Click HERE to Download / Stream “King”

Miami based hard/heavy rock act GEARS isn’t your average start-up garage band. Despite being confronted with a near disastrous setback at the cusp of their debut, headlining tour, jarring line-up changes, and financial challenges, the band has persevered and rebuilt.

Founded in February 2014, Trip 6 (Urban Rebel), Eli Parker (Endo), Tommy Herres (SCARLET CARSON) and Jimmy Wooten (SKINMASK) were all looking for new projects as their old ones had run their course.

We all wanted to do something more modern, but still rang true to our influences. Something that we could aggressively market and tour on. So, we all met up in Miami after months of talking about doing something together and what came out was the first EP, “Set in Motion.”

They released Set in Motion in May 2014, immediately launching into their first headline run with support from I-Exist. Just three days into the tour, their equipment trailer disconnected, resulting in a massive, horrific accident; not only did they lose their gear, but the tour van was totaled and the band members sustained serious injury. In spite of this tremendous blow, the group endured and continued the tour without missing a beat.

Later it developed that two of the founding members were unable to continue, leaving the band reeling and having to replace them with skilled, compatible substitutes:

I was talking with a mutual friend, Joe Taback (12 Gauge Embrace) about needing a guitar player for GEARS because we let go of Eli and he suggested Bobby Thomas. I called him and showed him the songs and he was ready to go. As far as bass, I knew Chris from when Needlemouth was a thing out in Cali and I always liked his playing and he was super laid back & cool. I knew both of these dudes were definite upgrades at their instruments and were a better fit personality wise than what we had to deal with previously.

In June 2015, Wooten and Six teamed with Corey Lowery (Saint AsoniaStuck MojoStereomudDark New Day) and Troy Mclawhorn(EvanescenceSeetherDark New Day) on their new EP Pride Comes Before the Fall, and announced the addition of new members Bobby Thomas and Chris Dorame.

They hit the road for their Riser Tour, once again with I-Exist, in July, wrapping up the run in September, but kept the momentum going with the digital release and lyric video for their debut single off of P_ride Comes Before the Fall_, “Face Down”. The band rounded out the year with the release of their much anticipated sophomore EP on November 10th, with a tour in January 2016.

Before spending most of 2017 touring with the likes of The Bunny The BearSeasons After and Bridge to Grace, Trip and Jimmy went back into the studio with Corey Lowery to begin working on new music. “KING” is the first single released to come out of those sessions and also features Clint Lowery on guitar.

We’re still moving forward and, despite everything that has been an obstacle in the short time we’ve been a band, everything still keeps growing and getting better.
