VARNA Release Lyric Video for “The Craving”

VarnaTheCravingArt

Los Angeles Hard Rock Band VARNA has released the lyric video for their single, “The Craving.”

“We are extremely proud to release such high driven female powered beast as ‘The Craving’ for 2019. This song about the push and pull of primal emotions you have instantly with someone–that carnal desire–but it never transforms into what you would like. You are stuck with the craving. Sometimes we just want what we aren’t meant to have.” – VARNA

“’The Craving”’hit my ears last Friday and I definitely had it on REPEAT all weekend. You should, too. Singer Tiana Woods once again knocks it out of the park, delivering a track that lyrically arrives just in time for Halloween. The hook is infectious, and the overall tempo would go great alongside a scene where the hero or heroine is running away from their obsessed would-be paramour.” –Amps & Green Screens

Los Angeles based hard rock band VYCES started in the summer of 2014 when Chicago native Dave Naruszewicz was looking to work on a new project following the disbandment of his former group Heart-Set Self-Destruct. After years of touring with such bands as Filter, Hell Yeah, Volbeat, Pop Evil, etc.., he realized it was time for change. He spent time working with other musicians in the Chicago music scene looking to feed his passion as an artist but he did not find what he was looking for. Dave’s vision was not deterred, so he decided to reach out to longtime friend and drummer, Russell Ray (formerly of Old Fashioned Beatdown).

Dave began flying to Los Angeles from Chicago twice a month to build something new, original, and undeniable. Russ then reached out to guitarist, Shawn Patterson (also formerly for Old Fashioned Beatdown). The three began writing demos together and also sending ideas back and forth over the internet which ultimately became the foundation of VYCES.

After a few trips to LA they decided to go into the studio with producer Augustus Cryns (Butcher Babies, Stitched Up Heart, etc..), and also featured Mark James Klepaski (Formerly of Breaking Benjamin, and Lifer) on bass. After a year of writing and recording the band had finished 22 songs of true emotion, and power. Being compared to such artists as Chevelle, Korn, and Red, they have sonically created a solid blend of active rock and metal. Dave describes the soul of the songs as exploring the darker side of human emotion and behavior saying “It’s something everyone can relate to because everyone has experienced some form of hurt, betrayal, weakness, hate, addiction, and/or lack of acceptance. It’s also the fuel that drives us to become stronger, get better, and overcome the flaws we’ve built in our minds.”

In October 2016 VYCES released their debut EP “DEVILS” and released a music video for the single “DEVIL” shot by Ron Underwood. From October through November of that year the band embarked on a the HELLRZZR TOUR which trekked across the U.S performing in 29 cities in 33 days.

VYCES spent the beginning of 2017 working on new material in between hitting the road on three national tours playing shows with Otherwise, Powerman 5000, etc.. In June 2017, the band released it’s first radio single titled “NOCTURNAL” accompanied by another music video shot by Ron Underwood, and features Butcher Babies own Carla Harvey. ‘Nocturnal’ reached #38 on the Mediabase Active Rock Charts making it their first top 40 single.

VYCES is currently preparing for 2018 with the release of their highly anticipated new single, ‘THIN LUCK’ which impacts national radio on 02/06/18 and will be on tour all year long.

State of Illusion Releases Official Music Video for “Blind” Off of ‘Aphelion’

South Carolina rock quartet State of Illusion has released the highly anticipated music video for “Blind,” the newly remixed single off of their 2014 released LP, Aphelion. Originally premiered on Tattoo.com, “Blind” was directed and edited by Erez Bader of Silent Flight Productions.

“I wrote ‘Blind’ in the middle of the night roughly 10 years ago, but we still feel life and energy from it every time we play it. Those 10 years can definitely be felt on ‘Blind’ because the new mix takes tiny recordings from almost every member we’ve had over the years and subtly inserts them throughout the track. We included it on Aphelion because we knew that it was a song that needed to be heard. Despite originally promoting another song as the single for Aphelion, ‘Blind’ was the song that seemed to connect most with listeners, probably because of the back and forth volley of mellow and hard-hitting elements and personal lyrics written so that they can be applied to the listeners’ unique situations. That’s why we decided to team up with Silent Flight Productions to create a visual to go along with the music. Hopefully, the new version of ‘Blind’, along with the awesome video, will resonate with new listeners on an emotional level and give them a little taste of what State of Illusion is all about.” – Jacob Porter (vocals)

Click HERE to Download ‘Aphelion’ on iTunes

Life is often comprised of our reactions. Often, negatives can be turned into positives through the way we look at situations or how hard we are willing to work for what we love. At least, that’s the philosophy that Greenville, SC-based rock band State of Illusion has adopted.

Though the rock act has had many successes, including memorable performances with artists such as Staind (hand-selected by vocalist Aaron Lewis), ChevelleFlawSmile Empty SoulAustin John Winkler (ex-Hindervocalist), Like a StormFailure Anthem, and Stitched Up Heart, along with functions for DisturbedKillswitch EngageLacuna Coil, etc., State of Illusion has faced more than its fair share of adversity.

After releasing their most recent studio album, Aphelion (self-produced, self-engineered, and self-released), State of Illusion took another dose of their well-documented bad luck (see the documentary One More Song – A Decade of State of Illusion from their brand new DVD, State of Illusion – Live) through the loss of core-members. Though beautifully crafting Aphelion with only two members (Jacob Porter on vocals, guitar, piano, pedal steel, engineering, and editing and Josh Breland on bass, drums, guitar, and piano) and seeing a top 100 worldwide rock chart release, the immediate post-Aphelion lineup was not meant to be.

What began as a rag-tag group of hired-guns pulled from other local acts to fill in on an opening show for an early musical influence in the band Flaw, a mixture of hard work, dedication, positive outlooks, and a love for the music turned bad luck into the strongest line-up State of Illusion has ever had. Former guitarist Cameron Price, drummer Bryce Chism, and Solaristvocalist/guitarist Tom Carden on bass stepped up to help Porter when State of Illusion needed it most.

This line-up continued to assist State of Illusion throughout 2017 as, one by one, these temporary members dedicated themselves as permanent members of the band. While filling in admirably, Carden knew that he needed set his focus back on Solarist and allow room for a permanent bassist to cement themselves into the lineup. His parting gift was former Solarist bassist Brandon Rodgers.

Once the 4 piece was solidified, State of Illusion sought the creative minds of Silent Flight Productions’ director Erez Bader (The ContortionistVeil of MayaThe Dear Hunter) and VFX supervisor and producer Casey Crescenzo(vocalist of The Dear Hunter) to bring a visual representation of their single “Blind” (remixed by Greg Macklin of Ordinance) to life. The moody result is a perfect fresh start for State of Illusion, who plan to use this opportunity to introduce Aphelion to a new set of listeners they couldn’t reach before.

Aphelion stands out amongst its contemporaries. The album is complete, in every sense of the word, with its many textures and range of sonic landscapes. With soaring anthems, such as the radio-ready singles, “Blind” and “Find Yourself,” to heavy-yet-melodic tracks, “Over” and “The Price You Pay,” to quiet moments, highlighted in the reflective “Reach the End,” Aphelion covers a full spectrum of emotion.

State of Illusion, seasoned with experience, a solid and energetic line-up, a reinvigorated approach, and having met success on the road for the past two years, have just released their first DVD, State of Illusion – Live, and are hard at work writing the highly-anticipated follow-up to Aphelion.

ABOUT ADAKAIN:

Official | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Nothing defines success in the music industry as forcefully as genuine adoration from a band’s fans to their producers, the radio programmers and label reps who’ve seen, met and continued to be amazed by a steady climb through the ranks. In that regard, Dallas/Fort Worth rockers ADAKAIN are already considered one of the most successful Active Rock acts in the U.S.!

Culminating their individual past experiences from previously signed bands and successful touring phenoms, each member brings top-level performance criteria to the table for a Royal feast of musical brilliance. Spending the last two years touring with National Acts like Taproot, Crossfade, Pop Evil, Korn, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Trapt, Trivium and fellow-Lone Star brethren Hellyeah & Drowning Pool; the ADAKAIN formula has been tried, tested and successfully gained the attention of radio and a national fan base that is supportive beyond compare!

Now, with a fully remastered re-release of their critically-applauded debut album “Never Coming Home” which will include mixes by famed producer Ben Grosse (Sevendust, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin) and production from Sahaj Ticotin (RA, Stitched Up Heart) respectively, ADAKAIN are launching into 2017 with more power than a Dallas oil strike! With regional headline tours that will culminate in their first ever appearance at this year’s ROCKLAHOMA Music Festival; Frontman/Guitarist Ryan Ray exclaims; “Man, this is a dream year we’re coming up on! The whole band is stoked, the music sounds incredible and there’s a whole slew of surprises we’re gonna be throwing in along the way”, he says. “That’s what happens, I guess, when you hire a manager who used to be a professional magician for a living”, Ryan laughs hysterically.

Look for big ADAKAIN news to follow with a brand new single to be worked to commercial Rock Radio and a follow-up National Tour announcement to follow.
