Frozen Nation Releases Dark Synth-Pop, Debut LP, ‘Dark Belgian Disco’

Belgian based, dark synth-pop act Frozen Nation has released their debut LP, Dark Belgian Disco via Sub-Continental Music. What they describe as a “hazardous crossover between darkwave, goth, EDM and disco music,” Dark Belgian Disco has a nostalgic New Wave sensibility infused with energetic dance beats, brooding vocals, and crisp, modern production that will appeal to fans across the genre spectrum.

D&D produced catchy melodies with a driving disco beat à la Chic, while Moss choses somber lyrics and dark crooning; it’s a funny fight between them, but these contradictions have contributed to create our unique style: Dark Belgian Disco. – Frozen Nation

The members of Frozen Nation are D&DMoss, and Elvis. They met at Spector Studio in Brussels during a very harsh winter. Sharing a common passion for new-wave and post-punk bands they started to make songs together and soon released their first track, “I Failed For You“.

Elvis is a modular synthesizer built during the 70s by an unknown genius for the band Jethro Tull, when D&D found him during a live tour in France, he was in poor health, they repaired him and gave him back his lost fame, and then they built new modules around him.

Before settling in Brussels D&D have worked in Paris with many projects such as TTCHoldenDJ Cam, making music for JC De CastelbajacChanel, etc. They master all the production stages from building their own equipment to playing, recording and mixing music. They love Disco and Dance music and write catchy pop songs.

Moss is from the legendary Brussels’ district “Les Marolles”, he’s tall and introverted, he has spent few years in Scotland during studies, he always tries to sing the catchy melodies in a dark way and writes somber lyrics, it’s a funny fight with D&D, but these contradictions have contributed to create the style : the Dark Belgian Disco.

Their debut album, Dark Belgian Disco was produced, recorded and mixed by D&D at Spector Studio in Brussels for the label Sub-Continental.

D&D performed real drums, bass, guitar, sequences with Elvis modular synthesizer, MPC 60, Drumtracks, Prophet VS, Roland sh09, cowbell, rototoms, Oberheim M1000, Ensoniq Esq1, as well as providing backing vocals.

Some fellow musicians from bands working in Spector Studio were invited to sing : El Draner from the band Joseph on back-up, Mandales who provide peplum style backing vocals and animal noises, and Astrid B. & Sabrina also provided lead and back-up vocals.

Heat Of Damage consists of four talented young musicians who write, produce, and perform an edgy and eclectic mix of hard rock and metal music. Their self-produced EP, Orenda, debuted in 2013.

Since then, the band has performed at numerous venues in the Northern California area. The group released their second EP, Lifestyle, in September 2014. The title track was featured on 98 Rock’s Local Licks program for three weeks running. Lifestyle’s “Apocalypse” was released soon after and earned a spot on 98 Rock’s Local Licks Most Liked Song of 2014 Countdown Show. The song came in at #2 for the year!

Following the successes of Lifestyle, the band entered the studio with Sacramento engineer and producer Matt Thomas to record their first full-length album, Open Fire, which was released in October of 2015.

Open Fire was well received following its release, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews from a wide variety of writers and music critics. The song “Heaven” was the #6 Most Liked Song of 2015 for 98 Rock’s Local Licks, despite only having two months of airplay during the year.

The group is well known for their musicality and showmanship. Shows are high-energy, engaging, and memorable. Their musical range is impressive, with an ability to provide anything from an incredible rock show to an unforgettable metal experience, for any venue’s style and crowd. Heat Of Damage never disappoints!

Dark Signal Release Lyric Video for Debut Single “Build You Back”

Sacramento based Rock/Metal Band Dark Signal are setting out to challenge expectations with their bold, debut single and lyric video, “Build You Back.” The song was produced by Drew Fulk and mixed by Taylor Larson; the video was directed/edited by guitarist Matt Thomas.

“This song is the embodiment of what our band has been through these last two years as we stepped back from our former band and brand to break the walls down that we built and create something new. This, as our first song, leads the way for Dark Signal, describing exactly how we have felt these last two years. Now we are here to build back what we once had, only better.” – Matt Thomas

Dark Signal is elegant, and destructive. The best of us, at the worst of times. Dark Signal is everything we wanted it to be, and nothing we imagined. In the end we’re all looking for a story, something to connect to. Dark Signal is a choice. The choice to be our true selves, and create music we connect to in the same way we connect with others.

Dark Signal, hailing from Sacramento California, comes with a new rock sound. Powerful and dynamic rock, rooted in the origins of a driving foundation. Dark Signal formed in 2017 by Sammy KarlinAnthony Grant, Matt Thomas, David Gorman, and Isaiah Adbul-Rahman. 5 members taking 10 years of writing, recording, performing and growing together to craft a refined sound in the image of their take on modern music; Dark Signal is tasteful as it is heavy, aggressive as it is beautiful. Absorbing the influence of new artists like Nothing More and Stone Sour creating a new sound for music that can translate into performance. Make no mistake this is a performing group, with a vision for the stage as strong as the studio; working to deliver an experience worthy of their fans support.

Set The Charge Launch Contest to Guess Influences on Ten Second Songs Cover of “Everything But Me”!

New York based Rock band Set The Charge–featuring Ten Second Songs’ Anthony Vincent–has released the Steven Miosku directed, Official Music Video for the single “Everything But Me,” off of their upcoming LP, Sky Goes On. Due out September 26th, Sky Goes On was mixed and mastered by Rob Ruccia of Uptown Recording.

This is the first single to kick off what I consider to be the official debut of Set The Charge, as this is our first full length album and the single “Everything But Me” is very poignant for me and the band. I actually wrote the lyrics to this song when I was 20; I’ll be 30 in a couple of weeks and it feels as if I was writing about the future because the lyrics mirror my situation now more than ever. To me this song perfectly depicts what it’s like to be an internet content creator, with a mental tug of war between artistic freedom and maintaining/growing an internet career. – Anthony Vincent

Track List:
01. Actiones secundum fidei
02. Everything But Me
03. Tell Me
04. Right Side of History
05. Pay No Attention
06. Don’t Let Them In
07. Yes And No
08. Betsy Brown
09. Youngin
10. Assimilating
11. Libera te tutemet

Set The Charge, an original four-piece band from New York, was largely a studio project until early 2014 when founding members Frank and Anthony Valbiro connected with Derek Ortiz and Tom Dicarlucci.

In 2015, Set the Charge released their first E.P., Auditory Insemination. Drawing influence from favorite eras and genre of music, Set The Charge’s sound is as much of an homage to the past as it is a dive into the contemporary—and there is no better testament to that than their upcoming album, Sky Goes On.

Some of the band’s recent appearances include Trash BarFat BabyThe Bitter EndGarcia’s at The Capitol TheatreThe Bowery ElectricWebster Hall, and more. In June 2015, Set The Charge was the subject of AXS TV’s “Breaking Band” series, paired up with Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer Robin Zander of Cheap Trick (air date – 2/14/16). Other appearances include NYC’s StreamCon, a well-received performance at VidCon 2016, and even bigger plans in place for 2018 and beyond.

Set The Charge is Anthony on guitars and vocals, Tom Dicarlucci on lead guitar, Derek Ortiz on bass guitar, and Frank on the drums.

It may sound trite, but Invidia is truly a brotherhood. Each member of this brotherhood has a story that reflects the quote above. When they came together to make As The Sun Sleeps, they knew just what they didn’t want and how far they were willing to go to make it work on their terms. INVIDIA features former members of Five Finger Death Punch and Skinlab. Recently Invidia announced the addition of Evan Seidlitz as the newest member of the band, replacing vocalist Travis Johnson. Seidlitz is no stranger to the frontman spotlight, known for his work in VYCESThrown Into Exile and Grimace. The band is very excited to be on this new journey with Seidlitz and has no doubts that fans will be pleased with what he has to bring to the table.

Hot on the heels of the release of their debut As The Sun Sleeps, Invidia are set to return to the road this summer first in support of Wednesday 13 through July. Then following a quick break the band will devastate the nation again as part of the Metal Alliance Tour alongside Overkill.

From Barnsley to Brazil: Hands Off Gretel To Be Featured in Upcoming Video Game!

Barnsley band Hands Off Gretel has been invited to present a live music video showcase at Música Mundo 2017 (September 6 to 10th) an international music conference in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

“It’s amazing that a group of students over 5,000 miles away have been working on our game and listening to our music. We have a fantastic international fan base and we are so proud that they chose Hands Off Gretel out of all the bands they could have chosen around the world.” Lauren Tate (Singer/songwriter Hands Off Gretel)

The bands video performance at the conference on September 9th will mark the launch of a free web browser game, developed by a group of Brazilian students, The Mad Freaks Studio at the University of Fumec in Brazil. The gaming students, who are avid fans of the band, were inspired by the music video “One Eyed Girl”, a colorful carnival video that the band produced themselves. The students were inspired by characters from the video to create the online game, which includes music from Hands Off Gretel and has a string of anti-bullying messages.

The students and the band have worked collaboratively over the last few months to tweak the game and will now work together to promote each other through a dedicated Facebook page for the game and a showcase presentation at Music Mundo. Episodes 1 and 2 will be released at Música Mundo 2017, which is promoting interaction between music and games, fostering business innovation and entrepreneurship. The game will be available to play online on September 15th with further episodes planned for October and December. The game is designed to entertain, but also warn about bullying and its dangerous consequences.

“The sound we make is raw, influenced strongly by 90s female fronted grunge bands, we get loud and shouty and soft and pretty, it’s frustration music from a girl in her room shouting out at the real world. “

Hands Off Gretel are making a name for themselves in their brief two-year history as a band. They have fast secured a promising live reputation with their visually stunning and compelling live performances, including; 2 full UK tours, Download, Isle of Wight, Rebellion and a capacity crowd at the Underground, as part of this years Camden Rocks Festival.

The South Yorkshire based band, described by some, as new wave grunge, bring a welcome dose of originality to the UK music scene. Louder than War describe them as “One of the most exciting bands in the UK’. Following release of their debut album Burn The Beauty Queen in Sept 2016, they secured airplay on Team Rock RadioKerrang radio and BBC Sheffield introducing and a video premiere with Alternative Press.

Epitomising what a DIY band can achieve Hands Off Gretel are arguably one of the most creative artists around, building on an impressive online following from around the world. Lead singer Lauren Tate produces the bands music videos, designs the website, and creates all the bands merchandise and tour posters. Original artwork, clay models, jewellery and a self produced demo album were just some of the things created by Lauren and sold via the bands website to crowd fund the album.

2017 see them touring the UK and heading to Germany on their first European tour, before heading back into the studio at the end of the year for album number 2.
