BLACKTOP MOJO has released the official music video for their single, “It Won’t Last,” off of their recently released LP, Under the Sun

The video was shot in Fort Worth, Texas at the Bodega bar by longtime friend and videographer Dustin Dow and our new friend, Larry Hinson, whom we met on the ‘Defy The Sun Tour’ with Otherwise.

It Won t Last Art

“‘It Won’t Last’ is about the fleeting feelings of a hookup. You have this intense connection with someone for such a short time, but then in the morning, you realize it was just an intoxicating moment.

We wanted to keep the video simple and more performance based this time around. This song in particular is very guitar driven, and we wanted to be able to showcase Chuck and Kiefer ripping it up.” – Matt James

“This is essentially step 2 in the adventure! This really has been a profound journey for me so far. We’ve wandered deep into unknown and uncharted territory. I didn’t know how this album would sound when I was writing each song, and it’s been really exciting and satisfying to see it come together as a cohesive portrait. I’m happy to say that I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created and I can assure you there will much, much more to come in the future.” – Jake Aaron Ward

From the very beginning, Watch Me Breathe has been all about honesty and authenticity. Lead singer Jake Aaron Ward formed the band in 2017 purely out of frustration. “As a solo artist, I just got fed up with trying to write music only to please other people. Watch Me Breathe is really an experiment that says: what would I write if nobody else was listening?”

The results of that experiment have been surprising. In the short time since the release of their debut LP “The Lighter Side of Darkness” in February 2018, Watch Me Breathe has already accrued well over 150K views on YouTube and over 50K streams on Spotify…and the numbers keep growing.

When it comes to making albums, this particular band has an unusual process not unlike that of Tame Impala or Bon Iver: Ward (a proficient multi-instrumentalist) writes, performs, records, mixes, and masters every song entirely by himself, in his own California home studio. He jokingly explains “I just kind of suck at collaborating.” He cites an eclectic range of influences, including Peter GabrielThe PoliceImogen HeapGoo Goo Dolls, and a whole slew of underground progressive metal bands that have helped shape his unique guitar parts and complex rhythmic patterns. In concert, the band performs as a power trio, with Ward covering guitar and lead vocals, while bassist Ryan Green and drummer/baby brother Carl Ward handle the rhythm section.

Migrant Motel is Back with New Single and Video, “Different Kind Of Leather”

3 3

Alt power rock duo Migrant Motel explodes back on to the new release radar today with the launch of their newest single, “Different Kind Of Leather.”

The band aroused both critical and popular acclaim with the release of their debut album Volume One in the fall of 2017. That album included their electrifying hit streaming single, “New Religion,” along with key tracks like “Physical” (featured on NPR’s Alt Latino) and “Snapshot.”

Lots has happened in that year and a half; the band moved to L.A. from Boston; played iconic venues such as Whisky A Go Go, Troubadour, and Viper Room; received airplay as part premiere Rock station KLOS’s Next 2 Rock competition, opened for bands like Café Tacvba in Boston, Badflower in L.A. and Diamante Eléctrico in Monterrey.

2018 was also a year of writing and producing new material and also consolidating their management team with industry veterans Marya Meyer (UMG Latin Am) and Rob McDermott (Linkin Park) and partnering with digital distribution and marketing company, ONErpm.

The rock & roll alt power duo composed of David Stewart Jr, the US-raised/Peruvian-born (bass, vocals) and Chava from Mexico City (drums) is a band formed at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

This international collective has achieved an enormously unique sound featuring a combination of old school pedal/amp tricks and cutting edge live looping both in studio and live. Their debut album, in collaboration with Norwegian producer Peder Etholm Idsoe, “Volume One” has been hailed as “a cross between Lenny Kravitz and Prince… Emotive, sexy and cleverly written” and the single “New Religion” was featured on 6 Official Spotify Playlists, including Dirty Rock, New Noise, LatinX Indie and Rockin’ and remains strong, closing in on 700k streams.
